Anne: “Vice and I are fine”
Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis have cleared the air and assured fans that all is good between them following an endorsement joke during the “EXpecially For You” segment in “It’s Showtime.”
On Saturday, January 20, 2024, the two “It’s Showtime” mainstays made rounds online after Vice started a banter that could potentially jeopardize Anne’s endorsement contract under a popular food chain.
Vice and Anne are both handling promotions for two local food chains, both of which compete directly with each other in the market.
During the show, Vice led Anne to say the competitor’s famous tagline, prompting Anne to worry on air since her contracts might be at stake for “lapse of judgment.”
After a short while, Anne realized her mistakes and says, “Ay, bad yun sa akin! Sorry po, pasensya na po kayo. Hindi ko po sinasadya yun.”
Subtly confronting Vice, Anne adds, “Ikaw, ‘pag nawalan ako ng kontrata. Pasensya na po kayo, hindi ko po sinasadya. Lapse of judgment, sorry.

The banter did not also sit well with the netizens, as many expressed how a simple joke could retaliate back to Anne and cost her losses. On top of that, Anne has posted on Instagram her promotion in a seeming compensation for her mistake.
Anne Curtis assures she and Vice Ganda are “fine”
As the video draws traction and sits as one of the trending topics over the weekend, Anne then releases a statement on Sunday, January 21, 2024, to clear the ongoing buzz.
On X (formerly Twitter), Anne writes, “Morning everyone. Guys, kalma. No need for such negative energy. Vice and I are fine. It was a lapse of judgment on both sides.
“At least we can move forward and be [careful]. Ganyan ang biruan backstage but syempre dapat iba pag on air. Kaya kalma. It’s a beautiful day. Gawin na lang #BidaAngSaya every day! HAHAHA!”

Quote-retweeting Anne’s statement, Vice then expressed his words of regret and clarified that he already already offered Anne his apologies.
His tweet reads, “Ang kj mo! Ok yan para trending! Chozzz!!! But yes it was lapse of judgement. It was our usual ‘brandagulan’ moment na late nya narealize so nasabi nya yung tagline ng di nya namalayan.
“I apologized to her and pinagtawanan na lang namin. Our sisterhood will always be Nice Ganda!”

More than the statement, Vice has also answered one tweet about the controversy and admitted that sometimes, he thinks inadequately; for that, he hates himself. However, he also acknowledges the natural demand of doing comedy, and that there’s no other way around it than to try again.
No. At times i dont think enough. Sa kagustuhan kong magpatawa bira ako ng bira kaya minsan sablay. Sometimes i hate myself. Pero ganun talaga sa comedy man o sa real life talagang hit and miss. And we’ll just have to try again. https://t.co/D2cdsWIX5o

As for Anne’s endorsement, it outrightly shrugs off the controversy and assured the actress-host through X that no offense was taken from the said mistake.
