“Script pa lang, 100% na siya sa akin,” says Zeinab about her MMFF movie
Vlogger Zeinab Harake ventures into acting for the first time via the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, “Kampon.”
In the horror movie produced by Quantum Films, Zeinab worked with Beauty Gonzalez and Derek Ramsay.
Zeinab, who started as a content creator with million followers on YouTube, admits feeling overwhelmed with her acting debut, and with it being part of the MMFF.
She opens up about this in an interview with Inquirer during the December 16 MMFF Parade of the Stars.
She says, “Overwhelmed, lalo na nakikita mo yung mga tao na nagaantay sa labas, yun talaga pinaka importante doon, yung effort ng mga tao na gustong sumuporta at manood.”
Highlighting the uniqueness of “Kampon” among the ten films in the 49th edition of the film festival, Zeinab revealed that the film’s genre resonates with her.
The vlogger also emphasized how beautiful the script was, convincing her to accept the offer of doing the film when she received the offer.
“Script pa lang, 100% na siya sa akin kaya naman hindi rin ako para tumanggi sa project na ‘to and sobrang excited ako to promote.
“Kasi pinipili ko talaga na mga movie, kahit na sa mga Netflix or any Hollywood [film], gusto ko talagang natural ‘yung pagkakatakot.”

“Kampon,” one of the 10 films premiering on Christmas Day, will run nationwide in cinemas until January 7.
