From concerts to merchandise, ARMYs are quick to fall in line to show their support for their idols. So when the BTS members released an Artist-Made collection that features products curated and designed by BTS’ V, it was no surprise that it would be in popular demand. BTS V’s Mute Boston Bag was sold out within seconds, breaking another record for the boys.
Sold Out Within Seconds
BTS’ V personalized merchandise collection includes the Mute Boston Bag and a set of brooches. As soon as it went on sale on the Weverse store, fans were racing to check out the items. The bag was out of stock even before HYBE’s social media accounts could even post about it in a matter of seconds — the quickest time for any bag to be sold out, according to the World Music Awards.

The Mute Boston Bag is made of vegan saffiano with warm tones of brown, green, and gray. It’s a versatile piece that would compliment any outfit, and the twilly scarf on the handle adds a perfect pop of color. At $168, the price is not too far off the mark with other affordable designer bags. But since the demand for it is crazy, online resellers have started accepting bids ranging from $225 to $13,000.
Many ARMYs expressed their disappointment on Twitter regarding the reselling situation. Ms. Lea Salonga, also part of the fandom, described the situation as a bloodbath. Fans are urging HYBE and Weverse to restock the collection and do something about unethical resellers. Some suggest limiting the number of items allowed per transaction and making it an exclusive membership sale to make it fair for the actual fans.
The first set of products released by HYBE was a nighttime collection designed by Jin and RM, which included a pajama set and a neck pillow. There’s no doubt the following members’ products will be a guaranteed hit, too.
