Janella Salvador Uses “It’s Showtime” Gaffe To Humor Netizens About Postponed Concert

Janella sees an opportunity to rise above bashing!

Janella Salvador is in for a quick humor as she takes her recent “It’s Showtime” controversy to address the impending criticisms that her postponed concert might receive from bashers.

The 26-year-old actress-singer was supposed to have her 10th anniversary concert titled “Janella Reimagined” on April 19, 2024 at the New Frontier Theater.

Part of the promotion was a television guesting in “It’s Showtime,” wherein Janella has graced the noontime program with her “Under Parallel Skies” co-star Win Metawin.

While promoting the film and concert on April 2, 2024, Janella was asked by host Kim Chiu to give a sample. However, her persisting voice condition rendered her unavailable to do so, thus she refused.

Janella’s refusal has wrought a lot of comments online—with netizens saying that Janella has disrespected Kim for saying no. Some even pointed out that it is a common protocol to give a “sample” upon visit to the program.

While the issue has died down for a bit after Janella’s statement, the focus now shifts to the anticipated concert. However, as announced by Janella’s management, Star Magic, the event will be rescheduled for a later date due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

Aware that the bashers might associate the delay with the recent controversy in “It’s Showtime,” Janella has then taken it as an opportunity to get ahead of criticisms.

Quote-retweeting the announcement from Star Magic, Janella writes, “Pa0s ksi sya,,, kau nlang!!! [laughing emojis] Ayan inunahan ko na kayo mwah.”

The online backlash is believed to have stemmed from Vice Ganda’s remark, wherein she used the same statement to call out a searchee who refused to give a sample during an “EXPecially For You” segment.

I’m genuinely excited for this and would love to be even more prepared for the day it finally pushes through. More details to be announced soon and looking forward to still seeing everyone.”

Prior to this, Janella has initially expressed her appreciation on the people who defended her amid the backlash. Uncertain about the issue, Janella shares that it is overwhelmingly good to know that there people who choose to know her and the advocacy that she stands for.

Janella marks her 10th anniversary with a concert and a new single titled “Headtone.” Produced by ABS-CBN Star Music, it is currently out for listening across all music-streaming platforms.
