Netizens argue whether Janella is in the wrong for dismissing Kim
Netizens rallied behind Janella Salvador following an online backlash she faced for a remark she made on ABS-CBN’s noontime program “It’s Showtime.”
On April 2, 2024, Janella visited “It’s Showtime” for the promotion of her upcoming film with Thai actor Win Metawin titled, “Under Parallel Skies.”
While doing so, Janella has also taken the time to promote “Headtone”—her newest single, which also happens to be the title of her upcoming concert.
Elated by the news, one of the program’s mainstays Kim Chiu then requested Janella for a bit of a “sample”—which the latter has quickly denied because of her current hoarse voice.
Kim says, “Sample naman Janella sa bago mong…,” which was cut off immediately by Janella’s “Medyo paos ako today, kayo na lang. Next time, promise.”
O pandagdag sa mga TV Gold trending.. ????? Kelan showing ng parallel skies..

Janella’s refusal might have not seated well with Vice Ganda—as he used the quote to humor a similar situation during the “EXpecially For You” segment.
When a searchee refused to give a sample, Vice Ganda remarks, “Medyo paos siya ngayon, kayo na lang,” which shocked the other hosts—including Kim who dismissed the joke with a laugh.

Janella Salvador criticized, defended by netizens
The clip, which immediately gained traction across the internet, got divided sentiments from netizens—putting Janella in between criticism and vindication.
One netizen writes, “Medyo off talaga yung ginawa nya. They are there to promote and sample lang naman yun which is few lines lang?? Parang kaya naman after hearing her speaking voice. Tapos dinagdagan pa niya ng ‘kayo na lang’ like huh?? Si Kim ba nagpro-promote?”
Another user presses, “Ok na sana yun ‘paos ako today’ pero di na dapat sinabi yung ‘kayo na lang’ mas okay kung sinabi niyang ‘sorry.’”
Shared by another user, the comment echoes, “Siguro would have NOT come off as rude if hindi nya sinabi yung ‘kayo nalang.’”
On the other side of the coin, there are those who take Janella under their defense—saying that the actress’s response is valid. Just as much, there are netizens who paid attention to how Janella still maintained a sense of respect in dismissing Kim.
OA nung iba HAHAHAH janella is obviously joking when she said “kayo na lang”, di lang nag-resonate ng ayos pero if u observe ung tone ng boses nya, it’s obv an attempt to make them laugh. lahat nalang ginawan ng issue as if branding ng ST eh perfect hosting…

May sakit si Janella, she's been having coughs and she has had no rest in the past months. Don't let one unintentional mistake DEFINE THE WHOLE PERSON.
Kudos to Kim for handling professionally
