Her reality-show stints were only the beginning.
Alisah Bonaobra is nothing if not persistent.
Her parents weren’t well-off, so Alisah made up her mind to do all she could to help them. That was why she became a kontesera at a young age. Although Alisah lived in Metro Manila, she’d join singing contests in distant provinces. She won most of these contests and she gave all her winnings to her parents.
She soon found her way to bigger stages. After making it to the finale of The Voice of the Philippines season two in 2014, Alisah flew to Europe in 2017. She tried out for The X Factor UK and earned rave reviews from the judges, including Simon Cowell. But Alisah bowed out of that competition in 11th place.
A lesser person would’ve quit music altogether after that. But she kept going. Fate threw her a bone in the form of Rosabella Jao-Arribas, head of RJA Productions, LLC. Arribas offered to manage her, she accepted, and the rest is history.
“It all started when Tita Rosabella messaged me through my Facebook page. She offered to help me with my career and she’s been giving me her all-out support since day one. Being part of RJA Productions, LLC is one of the best things that’s happened in my singing career,” Alisah says.
What’s in store for Alisah?
Alisah has released “Faithful,” “Ginto Ang Sandali,” and “Gintong Tinig,” under Arribas’ eye. “Faithful” won Best Inspirational Song at the 43rd Catholic Mass Media Awards. Her latest single is a cover of “Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin.”
Arribas says her new artist is a joy to manage. “She’s focused, hardworking, and very dedicated to her craft. She even does her own promotional materials. She manages her time well and is very involved in the company. Above all, her talent is amazing.”
Alisah is currently preparing for a concert in November. Aside from singing, she co-hosts the online show Winner Ka Sa RJA. For more on Alisah, check out her Facebook, Instagram, Kumu, Twitter, and YouTube.
