Yasmien welcomes her second daughter!
Yasmien Kurdi and husband Rey Soldevilla have finally welcomed the newest member of their family—a baby girl that the Kapuso actress delivered via Cesarean section.
The 35-year-old Sparkle artist shared the good news via an Instagram post uploaded on Monday, April 29, 2024.
According to the caption, Yasmien initially wanted to deliver the child under normal terms, however, a “series of tests” have rendered her incapable to do so.
Her statement reads, “I wanted to have VBAC or Normal delivery this time on my 2nd pregnancy. After series of tests nalaman namin na manipis pa din pala ang CS scar ko event after 11 years – not a good indication.
“Di na namin itinuloy because of many high-risk possible scenarios and we opted for CS the day I labored.
“We also found out during the procedure that the baby had a cord coil. It actually was a good call that we opted CS because if we tried VBAC we would have ended up doing CS still.”
Cord coil is a term used to describe a birthing anomaly wherein the child’s umbilical cord gets wrapped around the neck.
Succeedingly, Yasmien shares to her followers the advantage of having to undergo a c-section. Just as much, she extends her gratitude to the medical experts who helped her go through birthing.
She continues, “A #cesarean (C-Section) is a life saving procedure for women like me. I chose to do whatever it took to get my baby out healthy and safe!
“I would like to thank my doctors, Dra. Judy Ann Uy De luna, Dr. Placido Dr Marzo, and to all the doctors and nurses who assisted during my #CSProcedure [praying emoji] Happy #InternationalCeasaranAwarenessMonth #ceasareanawarenessmonth.
Prior to Yasmien’s announcement, she dropped a separate Instagram video wherein she can be seen being hyped up by her husband before the operation. Rey has also published a series of photos to offer support to his “madame.”
Rey’s post reads, “Parang mauuna na ito sa #LaborDay! Kaya mo yan madame, luv u [kiss emoji] #toGodbetheglory [praying emoji]”
