Renowned K-Pop group BLACKPINK marked its 7th anniversary on August 8, with heartfelt messages among the members and to their dedicated fanbase, Blinks.
The seventh year of a K-pop group holds significance as it marks the culmination of their exclusive contracts with music labels. However, YG Entertainment, the management behind BLACKPINK, has yet to release updates on the group’s contractual status.
Jisoo expressed her gratitude, saying, “Happy 7th anniversary BLINK AND BLACKPINK. BLACKPINK is always in your area. LOVE YOU.” Her message was accompanied by a snapshot from their recent Vietnam concert.
Rosé thanked her fellow members, acknowledging them as “a blessing in my life.” She reflected on her journey, expressing immense gratitude for realizing her dreams as an artist.
Lisa, embraced the significance of the number 7 and hoped for a fortunate year ahead, extending love to her fellow members and devoted Blinks.
Jennie took a nostalgic approach, sharing photos of BLACKPINK during their early days, taking fans with her as she strolls down memory lane.
BLACKPINK’s global journey includes an ongoing world tour, with anticipated stops in the United States this month.
Since their debut with “Whistle” and “Boombayah” in 2016, BLACKPINK has achieved remarkable success, breaking records and earning awards. In 2022, their sophomore album “Born Pink” made history by topping the Billboard 200 charts, making them the first female group to achieve this feat since 2008. They also became the first K-pop girl group to lead the United Kingdom’s Official Charts last year.
Their groundbreaking accomplishments include being the first Asian act to headline the US Coachella music festival and the UK BST Hyde Park concert series.
