She revealed that they are in the early stages of their relationship
ABS-CBN actress Chie Filomeno confirmed that she is in a relationship with Jake Cuenca. She revealed this during the media conference of her upcoming film, “A Very Good Girl.”
However, she emphasized that she’s taking her time before officially becoming his girlfriend to ensure they are ready and “fully committed” to a romantic relationship.
“I think he is mature enough na hindi papasok sa isang bagay na hindi pa siya ready, fully committed. So, I think, yun nga, kaya nga we are all taking our time, I am taking my time also.
“Kasi I am really private with my relationships before, and right now kasi, first time ko ever, like, may naka-date in this industry na naging public. Yeah, we are taking our time,” Chie explained.
During the interview, she expressed appreciation for Jake’s openness about his feelings and admired his bravery in expressing admiration publicly.

Jake had revealed their relationship during an interview for his action series “The Iron Heart,” though he had been cautious not to reveal too many details prematurely. He said that he doesn’t want “to pull the trigger too early.”
Chie on Jake: “Hindi niya ako minamadali.”
Chie clarified that they are in the initial stages and are proceeding thoughtfully. “Yung maganda kay Jake ay he knows where my heart is. Alam niya ang priority ko and hindi niya ako minamadali. ‘Yun ‘yon. Very gentleman siya and he respects my decisions. And, he is willing to wait,” Chie explained.
She also highlighted the importance of understanding and mutual respect in any relationship.
The couple has met each other’s parents, with Chie introducing Jake to her parents in May during a special screening of the Prime series “Cattleya Killer.”
Chie also praised Jake, stating, “Grabe siya magmahal. He is really passionate with his craft. Love na love niya ang family niya. He is really family-oriented, yun ang ina-admire ko sa kanya. Mabait. Alam naman nating lahat na mabait siya.”
Addressing the possibility of Jake asking her to be his girlfriend, Chie responded positively, considering her priorities and love for her family.
“Sabi naman nila mommy and daddy, 27 na naman ako and I can make my own decisions. And, nandiyan pa rin naman sila to guide me,” the actress said.
Chie recently renewed her contract with ABS-CBN and will soon be seen on the big screen in “A Very Good Girl,” alongside Kathryn Bernardo and Dolly de Leon, premiering on September 27, 2023.
