Dennis and Jennylyn’s last project together was 2020’s “I Can See You: Truly, Madly, Deadly”
Real-life couple Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo are set to star in an upcoming romantic comedy film titled “Everything About My Wife.”
Jennylyn and Dennis revealed the news during an interview on “24 Oras” on March 25. According to the actors, the film is a Philippine adaptation of an Argentinian movie.
Dennis hinted at the film’s storyline, describing it as a relatable and humorous take on a couple’s frequent arguments, eventually leading to one of them wanting to give the other away.
“Maraming makaka-relate dito. Masaya ‘yung treatment niya, maganda ‘yung pagka-adapt niya with the Filipino twist.
“Masaya siya kahit na tungkol siya sa mag-asawang nag-aaway,” Dennis said about the film’s plot.
This project marks Dennis and Jennylyn’s first collaboration as husband and wife on the big screen following their wedding in 2021. Their last project together was the “Truly, Madly, Deadly” episode of GMA-7’s “I Can See You” back in 2020.
Dennis gets support from the “Queen of Rom-com”
Meanwhile, Dennis admitted that he has to get used to doing some of their scenes since he mostly does heavy drama projects rather than lighter ones.
That’s why he is thankful to Jennylyn, whom he regards as “Queen of Rom-com,” for supporting him in their project.
Dennis said, “Noong umpisa, medyo nangangapa ako dahil hindi ako sanay gumawa ng mga light na project.
“Siyempre, sinusuportahan naman ako nung asawa ko, queen of rom-com.”
While specific details about the film are yet to be disclosed during the interview, Sam Milby is also included in the project.
Sam and Jennylyn have previously worked in the 2015 rom-com movie “The Prenup.”
Jennylyn has just recently made an acting comeback after giving birth to her daughter with Dennis, Dylan, in April 2022.

Dennis, on the other hand, will try playing a kontrabida in the upcoming historical-drama series “Pulang Araw.”
Dennis and Jennylyn have previously worked in the shows “Now and Forever: Dangal (2006),” “Super Twins (2007),” Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak (2010),” and “My Faithful Husband (2015).”
