Newport World Resorts has hosted the Rodel Gonzalez Art Exhibit until July 2. It showcased the remarkable works of Rodel Gonzalez, the only Filipino artist licensed by Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars.
The exhibit invited Disney fans to appreciate firsthand how beloved fairy tales and superheroes come to life on canvas.
“We are proud that the works of Rodel Gonzalez have found a home within Newport World Resorts,” Sian, a resort representative, expresses.
Rodel’s artistic journey began early in life, influenced by his father, Rick Gonzalez, and grandfather, Felix Gonzalez, both painters. With a keen eye for color, form, and composition, Gonzalez’s detailed artworks have been widely acclaimed.
Accredited by Disney since 2008, he has reproduced the media giant’s iconic characters and scenarios through his paintings. These have been sold across Disney Theme Parks, Cruise Lines, and art galleries worldwide.
Aside from his accomplishments in the art world, Gonzalez also had a notable music career. In 1985, he co-founded the premiere OPM band, Side A, and served as a songwriter and former lead vocalist. Combining his passion for art and music, Gonzalez has demonstrated his creative talents.
The Manila Art Show will feature an auction of over a hundred art pieces. These include popular characters from Star Wars, the MCU and beloved Disney princesses. The artworks come in various sizes and mediums, such as acrylic on black paper, acrylic on canvas, etc.
