Elijah: “We’re doing good. We’re very happy”
Elijah Canlas says he and Miles Ocampo are on a laidback stage of their relationship, wherein they take things slow and easy.
In an interview with media reporters on Tuesday, May 8, 2024 during the media conference of “High Street,” Elijah says he and Miles’s relationship is well and thriving.
He says, “We’re doing good. We’re very happy. Of course, of course. We’re taking it easy.”
The actor’s statement followed after joining his ex-girlfriend on her 27th birthday on May 1, 2024. Elijah is one among those who surprised Miles during the actress’s special day.
Talking about it, Elijah says, “All our friends were there. Kami ang nag-organize sa salubong party niya. In-enjoy lang namin. Well, right now, we’re just enjoying what we have. We’re taking things easy lang para walang pressure.”

Elijah elaborates on giving enough space in their relationship—and as true as their reconciliation is, he says that their career still precedes romance.
He says, “We’re just taking our time. Doon lang kami sa focusing on our work. Siyempre, marami rin siyang work, marami rin akong work. Of course, the love and care for each other will always be there.
Elijah also penned a short birthday greeting for Miles, which he published on his Instagram story. He wrote: “Thank you for regularly making us smile one way or another, birthday girl. You are always loved.”
The greeting is attached to random photos that Elijah collaged—including him and Miles doing mirror selfies. Elijah has also attached several still frames of pineapple cans from Wong Kar-wai’s “Chungking Express” to reference Miles’s birthday.

Elijah announced in an interview with ABS-CBN in November 2023 that he and Miles are no longer together. Severed by a “rough patch” in their relationship, Elijah still says that he will always have enough love and affection for the actress.
In a separate interview with ABS-CBN News, Elijah’s words point to a clearer interest in reviving his lost romance with Miles. He says,”There’s always love within us, right? There’s always love within us…and I have so much love to give, you know.”

Similarly, Miles reveals in a YouTube interview with Karen Davila that she leaves it to fate, should reconciliation render itself possible for second chances in love.
This was her same sentiment when asked about the matter during the “Padyak Princess” media conference in March 2024. As she puts it, “Let’s see. We’re working on it.”
