Enrique Gil is over the moon upon meeting two-time NBA champion Pau Gasol!
Enrique Gil has just lived the dream of many NBA fans as he joined the NBA All-Star Weekend last February 17 to 19, 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The actor happily documented his epic experience from landing to meeting various basketball superstars and fans, and enjoying other NBA activities on his social media account.
While touring the city, Gil has already met with Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and former Sacramento Kings’ member Jason Williams aka “White Chocolate.” He also saw Portland Trail Blazers’ superstar Damian Lillard playing on the hardcourt live.
But, as a Kobe Bryant fan, among the highlights of the “Alone/Together” star’s three-day stay was meeting two-time NBA champion Pau Gasol.

“Of course, I think the moment where I met Pau Gasol, that was a really, really… ’cause I’m a huge Laker fan, huge Kobe fan. So, to be able to talk to somebody really close to Kobe, it just meant a lot to me. Pau Gasol has to be one of my highlights,” he says.
Gil is among the celebrity guests who took part in the much-awaited annual All-Star Weekend event.
Once in a Lifetime Experience
Describing the entire experience as “awesome,” Gil got to watch the All-Star Festivities including the Slam Dunk Contest, the Three-Point Shootout, and the All-Star Game itself.
“Usually, when I watch an NBA game, I only see one, two superstars in every team, in each team. But now I get to see it in one game — all the superstars, the best in the NBA in one court, which is amazing,” Gil shares.
“It’s been awesome. Three days, it’s amazing … [it’s] a moment I will never forget, for sure,” he adds.
The actor also shared his All-Star experiences with his fans in detail through the NBA Philippines’ social media accounts, and was happy at the response he received.
“I’m more active right now, I’m back, and they’re just really happy that I’m enjoying my time right here. I just wish my dad was here to experience it with me. But this is definitely a moment I will cherish for the rest of my life, for sure,” he says.
In 2022, it was actress-singer Ylona Garcia who had the opportunity to witness the All-Star game in Ohio, Cleveland. She had a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet NBA MVP and champion Dirk Nowitzki in person.
