The viral “Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw” challenge circulating on Tiktok has really taken off with celebrities even joining the bandwagon. Originally from the duet performance of Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez and Asia’s Phoenix Morissette Amon in ASAP Natin ‘To, netizens who were in awe of the two belting high notes immediately made their own version of the said entertaining online skit.
Currently, the hashtag #GustoKoNangBumitaw already garnered a total of 92.3 million views with Regine’s version being the most viewed Tiktok entry. Singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid also lipsynced to his wife’s impressive vocals.
Morissette, who is one of NYMA’s roster of talents, also shared a live version of the song on TikTok.
Star-studded challenge
Morissette’s rendition of “Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw” was one of the six tracks from the official soundtrack of ABS-CBN’s show The Broken Marriage Vow starred by Jodi Sta. Maria, Zanjoe Marudo, and Sue Ramirez.
Jodi also joined the “Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw” challenge alongside fellow celebrity Rochelle Pangilinan’s viral Tiktok entry.
Sheryn Regis, the original singer and co-writer of the now-viral song, has also shared her own version of the song. Dubbed the Crystal Voice of Asia, Sheryn didn’t disappoint her fans with her Tiktok video.
Other celebrities who joined in the fun are Jerald Napoles, Kim Molina, Zeus Collins, Christian Bautista, Aiko Melendez, Ivana Alawi and her sister Mona, Samantha Bernardo, and comedian Chad Kinis among others.
