Xian Lim on his breakup with Kim Chiu: “In life, everything happens for a reason”
Xian Lim was recently asked about the possibility of rekindling a romance with Kim Chiu, his girlfriend of almost 12 years.
This was the first time that Xian faced the press after Kim confirmed their breakup on December 23, 2023.
The actor attended the January 6, 2024 grand media conference of his teleserye with Jennylyn Mercado titled “Love. Die. Repeat.” This teleserye premiered on GMA-7 on January 17, 2024.
During the interview, Xian and Jennylyn were both asked: are they open to repeating a relationship they had with someone in the past?
Jennylyn pointed out that she and Dennis Trillo are actually a case of a rekindled romance: “Kami ni Dennis, di ba, ganun? Nanalo ang pagmamahal.“
As for Xian, he had a simple answer to the question.
“In life, everything happens for a reason. Yun lang naman po yun. Hindi man umulit o umulit man, everything’s gonna happen for a reason.”
When the actor-director was asked if he is open to the possibility of loving someone again, he reiterated:
“Lahat nga po na mga pangyayari sa buhay, e, it happens for a reason. So, we just have to move forward kung ano man po yun.“
Xian is asked about Kim Chiu
When Xian was asked how he was after his much-talked-about split with Kim, he answered: “Dapat naman talaga okay!”
He was then asked if he is still open to the idea of a former love being revived.
Xian only answered, “Katulad nga po ng paulit-ulit ko pong sinasabi, lahat naman po ng bagay sa buhay natin nangyayari for a reason.
“Hindi man natin alam kung ano yung rason na yun, ngayon, yun po, all we have to do is to move forward from whatever it is that happened.”
When pressed if he is in the process of moving on, Xian simply smiled and said: “Kailangan lang talaga natin maging masaya, unahin muna natin ang sarili.“
On December 23, Kim confirmed longstanding rumors regarding their split last December 23. She pointed out that even though their relationship lasted for over a decade, “sometimes love is not enough.”
She explained that their decision to part ways was mutual, with the hope that their love would transition into a “lifelong friendship.”
Xian, on the other hand, expressed his well-wishes for Kim’s future happiness in his own Instagram post. He hoped that she will “find all the happiness and love you are searching for.”
