Henry Cavill on His Return as the DCEU’s Superman

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Henry Cavill!

Henry Cavill recently announced that he is “back as Superman” following his cameo in the Black Adam post-credits scene. The film made the top box office debut, earning $67 million on its first day.

Cavill debuted as Superman in 2013’s Man of Steel. He returned as the Son of Krypton in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Superman appeared in Shazam, but Cavill did not take on the part. Instead, the production took a body double and filmed him from the neck down. He did appear in person during a post-credits scene in Black Adam.

“I wanted to wait until the weekend was over before posting this because I wanted to give you all a chance to watch Black Adam,” Cavill stated in a video he uploaded on his Instagram account. “But now that plenty of you have, I wanted to make it official: I am back as Superman.”

Cavill implied more great things are coming ahead for Superman fans. He says that what they witnessed in Black Adam’s post-credits scene is “just a very small taste of things to come.”

The actor did not give any further information. But he thanked the fans for their support as he resumed the role of Kal-El. “Thank you for your support and thank you for your patience,” Cavill said. “I promise it will be rewarded.”
