Is Vic Sotto Willing To Do A Film Collaboration With Vice Ganda?

Vic: “It’s not impossible. Pero…”

Vic Sotto reveals that he is very much willing to work on a film with Vice Ganda should there be an opportunity to do so in the future.

The 69-year-old veteran host-comedian shares this consideration with select members of the press at the “Eat Bulaga!” studio on April 20, 2024.

First, Vic admits that he is set to do a comeback film for the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival this year. However, he says that he will be doing something new and different from the “Enteng Kabisote” installments that he usually undertakes for the annual film fest.

As he puts it, “Iba naman. Iba na kasi ang panahon ngayon, so makakaasa sila ng kakaiba talaga.”

With yet another “Bossing” film slated for production, Vic was then asked if he is open to working with Vice Ganda. The prospect was brought up since he previously stated that there was not any feud between “Eat Bulaga!” and “It’s Showtime.”

Very shortly, Vic says, “It’s not impossible. Pero siguro in the future. Why not, wala naman akong pinipili.”

Vice is also gearing up for a movie comeback this year. Under the helm of director Jun Robles Lana, the Kapamilya comedian will take yet another comedy riot titled “And The Breadwinner Is…” to be produced by Star Cinema and IdeaFirst company.

Vic Sotto seconds Joey De Leon’s sentiment on “Eat Bulaga!” and “It’s Showtime” rivalry

Vic Sotto reiterates in an interview with TV5’s MJ Marfori that “Eat Bulaga!” and “It’s Showtime” have always had a warm demeanor towards each other.

Constantly pitted against each other, Vic furthers that the competition between them adds a bit of excitement—but nonetheless, they never take it very seriously.

He says, “Ay, hindi. Never, never namin sasabihing kaaway. Katapat, kalaban, pero kaaway? Iba yung kaaway namin. Alam niyo na kung sino yan.”

Vic might have been hinting at GMA-7’s TAPE Inc—the producer of “Eat Bulaga!” whom they initially had a feud with. Their severed relationship has prompted Vic, Tito Sotto, and Joey De Leon to leave the program and the network in pursuit of another noontime endeavor under TV5.

Prior to Vic’s sentiment, another “Eat Bulaga!” mainstay Joey De Leon has expressed the same stance on the matter. He initially attests that the two noontime shows, despite their rivalry status—has reputable ties.

Joey says, “Mahal namin ang ‘Showtime’ dahil kasabayan namin. Dadalawa na lang kami, huwag niyo kaming pagsabungin.”

He adds, “Dadalawa na lang yung show, isasara pa yung isa? At yung isa…well, hindi naman sa pagyayabang, yung longest-running top five na sa mundo, e. Kaya, thank you! Kasama kayo dun sa honor na yun.”
