Will they help Coco’s character in the series?
ABS-CBN action drama series, “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” is gearing up for a new chapter with a fresh set of new characters.
Ivana Alawi’s participation in the series was one of the surprising developments. Her inclusion in “Batang Quiapo” comes after an earlier report published in PhilStar Online, where she denied the rumors that she would be part of the show.
“Parang hindi ‘yan na-mention sa akin. Iba po ‘yung nakalatag for me,” she said.
This is her first project after she recently signed a new contract with ABS-CBN.
In a teaser that aired during its August 28 episode, Coco Martin’s character Tanggol is seen being transferred to a correctional facility, where he will be subjected to torture and hardships.
One of the scenes showed an image of him lying helpless on a table after being tortured, while Ivana’s character was showing empathy and compassion for Tanggol.

Meanwhile, another exciting addition to the series is Jaclyn Jose, who returns to ABS-CBN after her GMA-7 talent contract expired.
She last appeared on GMA-7 show “Bolera,” where she played Tessa.
Her last Kapamilya project was the 2012 primetime series “Kahit Puso’y Masugatan,” where she worked with her daughter, Andi Eigenmann.

Also joining the series are Vandolph, Soliman Cruz, and Robert Seña. The characters they will portray hint at the possible relationships and conflicts that they could bring to Tanggol.
More details about the new characters are yet to be announced by Dreamscape Entertainment, the production unit helming the series.
“FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” a TV adaptation of a movie starring Fernando Poe, Jr., first aired on ABS-CBN in February 2023.
