Jayda addresses friendship fallout with Francine
OPM artist Jayda Avanzado admitted that she had a past misunderstanding with Kapamilya actress Francine Diaz.
The two are known as bestfriends—even viewed as the ultimate BFF goals—when they became close in 2019.
However, during an interview with Cristy Fermin on her radio program “Cristy Ferminute,” on Tuesday, April 15, 2024, Jayda revealed that she and Francine went through some misunderstanding.
Jayda was honest to say that they have not been speaking for a while now, and that the last time they had communication was when she greeted Francine on her birthday last January.
Jayda said, “Matagal na din pong hindi kami nag-uusap ni Francine. Yung huli pong pag-uusap namin, siguro nung birthday niya po, nung binati ko siya in private.
“And magiging honest po ako, meron din pong mga nangyaring ‘di pagkakaunawaan sa aming dalawa or kumbaga nagkaroon din po ng disagreement sa aming dalawa.”

Cristy asked if Francine ever apologized to Jayda, but the singer handed an indirect answer.
Instead, she responded, “Meron pong nangyari pong usapan po sa aming dalawa. We were able to talk about yung naging problema po namin and maayos naman yung pag-uusap namin.
“Whenever I have a disagreement or di pagkakaunawaan with someone, siyempre, importante sa akin na hinaharap mo yung problema at hand.”

The alleged reason behind the disagreement
Cristy then asked Jayda if the dispute was in relation to her picture alongside Andrea Brillantes. Andrea and Francine are also known to have a longtime rift, which was made known to the public after unfollowing each other on Instagram.
Jayda smiled quietly for a second—neither confirming nor denying the rumor.
Breaking the short silence, she said, “Well, totoo naman po na nagkasama po kami ni Blythe [Andrea] sa isang party. At saka parang nagkataon lang din po talaga kasi co-host po siya nung party na yon, and nag-picture naman po talaga kami.”
Jayda and Andrea both attended the anniversary party of a publishing brand on February 8, 2024, where they interacted and took pictures together.
Jayda chooses not to elaborate anything on details about what happened.
However, she pointed out that the entertainment industry functions in a way where anyone can meet anytime. To her, connecting with other celebrities is important.
Jayda explained, “Kasi maliit lang naman po yung mundo ng showbiz.
“In respect to the events na nangyari po, sa ngayon po, hindi ko na po i-elaborate lahat ng mga detalye pero ito na lang po sasabihin ko, yung picture namin ni Blythe, I would really just say na importante po sa akin na nakikisama po ako sa lahat ng tao po sa industriya.
“Alam ko po na nagkaroon din po ako ng parang konting backlash po sa post na yon o sa nagsama po kami, pero para po sa akin, pinalaki po ako ng magulang ko po na dapat may respeto po ako sa lahat ng tao na nakikilala ko po sa industriya.
“Sa akin, kung si Blythe po, nagpapakita naman ng maganda o okay na pagtrato sa akin o pakikitungo sa akin…”
Did Seth court Jayda?
Another question raised during the interview was if Jayda was courted by young actor Seth Fedelin, Francine’s current love-team partner and Andrea’s ex-boyfriend,
“No comment,” she said promptly.
Having witnessed the controversy wrapped around the three, Jayda wants to exclude herself from the narrative.
Jayda explained, “Gaya po ng sinabi ko, in respect to the people involved, there are certain things din po na it’s not my place to say.
“Magiging prangka po ako, labas po ako sa issue po nila. Ayoko na pong, for the lack of better term, parang sumali.”
In the same manner, Jayda also expressed her regard for Francine and the bond they formed together.
Her message to Francine was, “Yung pinagsamahan namin, nirerespeto ko yon, and pinahahalagahan ko yon. I wish her well. Things are civil.”

Francine unfollows Jayda on Instagram
Though Jayda concluded that she and Francine already settled their differences and were on good terms, it seemed that the air changed.
It was after netizens discovered that the two have already unfollowed each other on Instagram.
At press time, Francine has not said anything about the issue yet.
