Julie Anne San Jose has defended her boyfriend Rayver Cruz after an online backlash that the actor received over his playful gestures in a TikTok live stream.
Rayver was put on the receiving end of criticism over the weekend after netizens noticed his hyped-up demeanor towards his girlfriend Julie Anne.
In a compiled screen recordings published by an X user, it can be seen that Julie Anne was sitting with Rayver—both of them were entertaining some questions from the live viewers.
While Rayver was being playful throughout, the netizens have observed that Julie Anne was showing signs of subtle agitation over Rayver.
With that, many users have paid heed to Rayver’s relatively unusual behavior, quickly putting assumptions and allegations about his conduct.
In defense of Rayver, Julie Anne has then responded to the X user—saying that the post and the accusations that come with it have crossed so many lines.
She says, “Minsan lang po ako sumagot sa mga ganto but sobra ka na po. Below the belt and harsh na po itong accusations, please stop [praying hands emoji].”

Rayver Cruz issues apology over “playful” gestures with Julie Anne San Jose
Prior to Julie Anne’s response, Rayver has initially taken accountability by issuing a statement about the matter.
In a published post on X dated March 16, 2024, the actor apologized for the actions he displayed, saying that it is only natural for him to be playful around his girlfriend.
He writes (published as is), “Sa mga na offend sa kilos ko kanina sa live stream namin, sorry. But I was just being myself. Playful and happy talaga ako. Lalo na when I’m with my love. She knows that, she knows me.
“I don’t usually speak up pero ibang usapan na ang accusations. Una, hinding hindi ko kayang saktan si Julie. My mom raised me right.
“Hinawakan ko yung bohok nya na lagi kong ginagawa sa mga iba pa namin videos pag magkasama kami pero kung iba po ang dating sa ibang tao wala na po ako magagawa don [praying hands emoji]
“I respect Julie sobra sobra and sobra ko syang mahal pati ang family nya. Pangalawa, may respeto ako sa trabaho ko at sa mga katrabaho ko. Hinding hindi ako gagawa ng makakasira dun.
“At sana, matuto na rin tayo rumespeto sa iba at maging malawak ang pagi-iisip. Salamat po and goodnight!”

Julie Anne and Rayver—together known as JulieVer—have always been vocal of their love for each other. Particular on her intentions, Julie has always been head-on with taking her relationship with Rayver to the next level.
In an exclusive interview with FreebieMNL, she says, “Last one. Last relationship. Charot! Yun naman talaga ang ultimate goal. Siyempre, I want to wake up every day inspired sa kanya, sa pagmamahal sa kanya.”
“Marami akong nilo-look forward kasi siyempre, mahaba-haba pa yung tatakbuhin. Basta through thick and thin, hindi naman ako—I’m not going anywhere naman. I’m always here and he knows naman why I’m here and what I signed up for.”
Rayver has declared the same sentiment, saying that he looks at Julie as his “end game.”
