Julie Anne San Jose, Rayver Cruz Share Thoughts About Cheating

Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz’s movie, “The Cheating Game,” tackles a controversial topic

Cheating is truly one of the most controversial topics to be tackled in the media, especially in TV shows and movies.

This is the very subject of Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz‘s movie, “The Cheating Game.”

In a recent Zoom media conference for the movie, Julie Anne and Rayver were asked by FreebieMNL how the movie changed their thoughts and perspective toward cheating.

Julie Anne explains, “May iba-iba kasing klase ng cheating, e. If you watch ‘The Cheating Game,’ lahat ng kinds ng cheating, parang nandoon, lahat ng elements.

“So, I think it will also explain [that].”

But Julie Anne maintains her position that in cheating, what’s done is done.

She continues, “Kasi, personally, talagang parang may kanya-kanya tayong definition ng cheating but for me kasi talagang non-nego siya. When it’s done, it’s done.

“But most importantly, you forgive yourself. Parang yun yung major takeaway ko dito sa film na ito as a viewer.”

Rayver, for his part, based his answer on his character in the film and its plight.

Iba-iba talaga in real life yung different takes natin sa cheating. Kahit sa anong side ka mapunta, iba-iba yung atake ng tao and ganun din kasi yung mangyayari sa characters naming apat.

Iba-ibang situations, iba-ibang circumstances, iba-ibang attack or yung reaction sa betrayal or sa cheating. So, yun yung pinaka doon kami magtatagpo-tagpo, e. Pero bawat isa, may isang common na nangyari talaga, which is the cheating game.”

“The Cheating Game” opened in cinemas on July 26, 2023, and is currently in its second week of showing.

Apart from JulieVer, the movie also stars Martin del Rosario and Winwyn Marquez, directed by Rod Marmol.

First Juliever movie

Meanwhile, Julie Anne and Rayver are happy that finally, their first movie has been shown already in cinemas.

It took four years before the movie gets to be seen by their fans as their taping was halted by the pandemic. When it was finished early this year, GMA Public Affairs and GMA Pictures were looking for a good playdate.

Julie says of this, “Kasi nag-start yung shooting ng film na ito two years ago. Before the pandemic, we shot some scenes in the province, and then tinuloy lang namin siya this year.

“So, parang ang surreal pa rin, e, kasi napakabilis talaga ng panahon. Parang shinu-shoot pa lang namin ito ‘tapos biglang ganito, ipapalabas na siya! Everyone’s so really nice and accommodating, we had a healthy working environment.”

But what made it more exciting for Julie is working with Rayver on an acting project since their partnership is more known to live shows.

“Also, mas na-excite ako kasi si Rayver yung katrabaho ko, but this time, sa acting naman kasi usually nakikita kami ng tao sa ‘The Clash,’ sa ‘All-Out Sundays,’ sa performances, sa hosting.

“This time naman, as actors and actresses kami dito, with Martin din and Winwyn. Along with the others, it’s such a delight, a breath of fresh air. Very very excited to show it to everyone.”

As for Rayver, he can’t help but be proud of his girlfriend’s performance in the film. He proudly says, “Talagang ibang Julie Anne ito, nakaka-proud!”
