Kathryn is hailed as Outstanding Asian Star in the Philippine category of SDA 2023
Kathryn Bernardo is named Outstanding Asian Star in the Philippine category at the Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) 2023.
The Outstanding Asian Star awards were given to actors from six countries in Asia, namely South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, China, and the Philippines. Each country has its set of nominees, and the celebrities only competed against fellow nominees from the same country.
Other Philippine celebrities nominated for the award were Kathryn’s boyfriend Daniel Padilla, “Maria Clara at Ibarra” star Barbie Forteza, singer-actress Julie Anne San Jose, and previous SDA winner Dennis Trillo. The SDA winners were determined through voting which ran from June 15 to July 14, 2023.
Now on its 18th year, the Seoul Drama International Awards will be held on September 21, with live broadcast on Korea’s KBS2TV.
Kathryn is slated to star in three movies in the months: “A Very Good Girl” with Dolly de Leon, directed by Petersen Vargas; “Elena 1944” helmed by Olivia Lamasan; and an untitled Kathniel film under the direction of Cathy Garcia-Molina.

On TV, she was last seen in the Kapamilya primetime series “2 Good 2 Be True.”
In last year’s edition, Belle Mariano was named one of the recipients of the Outstanding Asian Star Prize in recognition of her role in “He’s Into Her.”
