‘King The Land’ Leads Roster Of Latest Heartfelt Netflix K-Dramas

Take your popcorn out and get ready to binge on these upcoming Korean rom-coms on Netflix

K-dramas provide a sense of comfort and hope through their heartwarming stories, lovable characters, and stunning visuals. Netflix’s “King The Land” is one of the latest rom-coms to capture the audience worldwide.

Securing the top spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English chart for two consecutive weeks, “King The Land” has secured a spot in the top K-Drama favorite series of all time, along with the ranks of the iconic “Crash Landing On You” in 2019.

Starring Lee Junho and Im Yoon-ah, the recently-concluded show has been praised for the undeniable chemistry between the leads since it first aired on June 10, 2023.

If you’ve raved about “King the Land” then Netflix has especially curated a list of upcoming, equally good, and heartfelt dramas for you to binge on next.

  • “Behind Your Touch”

Described as com-rom instead of rom-com, this upcoming show is set to air on August 12, 2023 centers on a veterinarian (Han Ji-min) with psychometric powers, and a hot-headed detective (Lee Min-ki), who fall in love with each other while solving minor crime cases in a small town in Mujin, Chungcheong-do.

Determined to solve the serial murder cases in Mujin, the tandem, although initially at odds eventually team up to solve the cases and find the killer. Along the way, they fall in love.

  • “Destined with You”

Coming to Netflix this August 23, 2023, “Destined with You” stars Lee Hong-jo (Jo Bo-ah) as a low-level, bullied civil servant who is always trying her best to do her job. One day, she finds an old wooden chest that contains the key to breaking a curse that has been afflicting Jang Shin-yu (Rowoon) for generations.

Jang Shin-yu, meanwhile, is a successful lawyer, handsome and intelligent lawyer who is suffering from an unexplained illness that is slowly killing him. Believing that the only way to break the curse that is afflicted him, he sets to find the person who owns the old wooden chest.

  • “A Time Called You”

Coming off from “Business Proposal” and “Vincenzo,” respectively, Ahn Hyo-seop and Jeon Yeo-bin uncover a love story that transcends time and identity, promising plenty of heartfelt and tear-jerking moments starting this August 20, 2023.

Han Joon-hee (Jeon Yeo-bin) playr the role of  a radio DJ who is still grieving the death of her boyfriend, Ko Yeon-jun (Ahn Hyo-seop), one year after his passing. One day, she suddenly travels back in time to 1998 and wakes up inhabiting the body of 18-year-old Kwon Min-ju. At school, she meets Nam Si-heon (Ahn Hyo-seop), who bears an uncanny resemblance to her deceased boyfriend.

  • “Castaway Diva”

Following her success in “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” Park Eun-bin will be giving life to Seo Mok-ha, in “Castaway Diva” which airs this October 2023.

The series is about a girl who dreams of becoming a singer but then gets stranded on a deserted island for 15 years. After she is rescued, she tries to adjust to modern society while still pursuing her dream of becoming a diva.

  • “Doona”

Also coming to Netflix this October is Bae Suzy’s latest drama titled “Doona.” Based on the webtoon “The Girl Downstairs” by Na Geum-sang, Suzy teams up with Yang Se-jong who plays the role of Lee Won-jun, a freshman college student who is struggling to adjust to college life. 

Doona (Bae Suzy) is beautiful, talented, and popular but is also very mysterious. She rarely goes out, and she seems to be hiding something. Lee Won-jun is immediately drawn to her, but he is also intimidated by her.
