Kris Aquino opened up about her reasons for initiating her breakup with Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste. Kris revealed that she only gave her followers a “cleansed version” of why she ended the relationship.
In her Instagram account, Kris admitted that she decided to break up with Mark because she felt that he was not ready for the responsibility of a serious relationship with a woman who is battling a serious illness.
Kris said, “I didn’t lie when I said a long distance relationship is difficult. BUT I saw he has many dreams left to fulfill and many obligations to the people who gave him their vote. Sadly, I’m in the battle of my life precisely because I’m doing all I can to save my life because my 2 sons still need me.”
She also acknowledged Mark’s full life beyond being responsible for her, and said that she knew that he had a life beyond trying to help take care of her.
Kris admitted that she did not want to add stress to her life by seeing Mark’s posts enjoying himself while she was suffering in the United States.
“I’m realistic enough that Marc has a life beyond trying to help take care of me. I apologize for seeming selfish but why will I add stress in my life when I see his posts enjoying himself when I am suffering 8,000 miles away?
“If we had tried to stay together as a couple the ending would still be the same, tao rin ako na mapipikon at magtatampo dahil mararamdaman kong, hindi ba niya naisip ang hirap na pinagdadaanan ko?”
Kris felt that she and Mark were not destined to be together.
“Kaya minabuti ko nang sa akin nang manggaling kasi nakita at naramdaman kong hindi siya handa sa responsibilidad ng seryosong relasyon kasama ang isang babae na tinatanggap ang realidad na yung buhay nya ngayon ay pinahiram na oras lamang ng Diyos.
“Pareho kaming may karapatan na mabuhay sa paraan na pinakapayapa ang mga puso namin. i’m keeping my word that he will never read nor hear me saying anything negative about him because what for? We’re not enemies, we just weren’t meant for each other.”
It was on July 10 when Kris first revealed that she and Mark have broken up. Rumors of their relationship began when Mark, who Kris previously referred to as Marc, visited her in the United States on New Year’s Day.
In May, Kris released an update regarding her health while simultaneously thanking “Marc” for all the “effort to be here whenever I need you.” This, together with Mark Leviste’s yellow heart reply, had fueled bigger speculation about their real status.
In June, Mark Leviste had made the decision to announce their romance via an interview with ABS-CBN “TeleRadyo.” However, this was taken rather negatively by Kris who said that the revelation went without her consent.
Following after a month is Kris’ lengthy parting letter with Mark on July 10.
