Did Sparkle Artist Liezel Lopez Experience Getting Scolded By Director Laurice Guillen?

Liezel Lopez on “Asawa Ng Asawa Ko” Laurice Guillen: “Alam niya if wala ka sa sarili”

Sparkle artist Liezel Lopez is grateful to her “Asawa Ng Asawa Ko” director, Laurice Guillen, for the good words said about her in an interview.

During Direk Laurice’s recent interview in “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” she praised Liezel for getting her role right as the kontrabida in the show.

In an interview with FreebieMNL during the press conference of “Walang Matigas Na Pulis Sa Matinik Na Misis” season two, Liezel shares her reaction about her director’s words.

She says, “Oh my, God! Actually, noong pinanood ko yung interview niya, naiyak talaga ako, naiyak ako ng kaunti sa sobrang saya kasi coming from Direk Laurice, ah, my God.

Kasi sobrang straightforward si Direk Laurice when it comes to trabaho talaga, kapag may hindi siya gusto, sasabihin niya sa ‘yo ng rekta, hindi siya marunong mag-sugarcoat.

“So, kapag prinaise ka niya, sobrang sarap sa feeling. Sobrang grateful ako at siyempre, kailangang mas lalo ko pang galingan.

“I will not let her down, I will do everything para mas pag-igihan ko pa yung trabaho ko.”

In the same “Fast Talk” interview, Direk Laurice admitted that there are times when she scolds actors for them to effectively portray their roles in the series.

Did Liezel experience getting scolded by Direk Laurice on the set?

She shares, “Hindi naman siguro pagalit, more on binibigyan niya ako ng insight pa sa role.

Kunyari, meron pa siyang gustong makita sa akin, ide-demand niya yun sa akin and as an actor, kailangan mabigay ko, siyempre, yung kailangan ni Direk sa scene.”

According to Liezel, Direk Laurice knows when his actor is getting jitters or not focused while on the set.

The Sparkle artist continues, “Kasi si Direk, parang pinapanood ka na niya, like, how you stand, alam niya.

“Actually, hindi pa nagro-roll, nagse-set up pa lang kami, nagre-reading pa lang kami, binabasa na niya yung body language mo, so, alam niya kapag tense ka, alam niya if wala ka sa sarili.

“So, I think yun, more of sinabihan niya ako na relax, kasi nakikita niya kapag medyo stiff ka. Siyempre, kapag first day first day, medyo [tensed pa].”

Another kontrabida role

Liezel is being groomed to become one of GMA-7’s primera kontrabidas. More recently, she was launched as part of Sparkle 10, a group of Kapuso actresses to watch out for in showbiz.

The 26-year-old actress is happy with the path she is currently taking as a kontrabida.

Liezel admits that, in the beginning, she was affected by bashing because of her roles.

Even then, Liezel is ready to be hated for her role in “Asawa Ng Asawa Ko,” which airs from Monday to Thursday on GMA Prime’s third block.

She says, “I think this is the ‘evil-est’ evil [role]!

New role in sitcom

Even if she’s still doing “Asawa ng Asawa Ko,” another blessing landed on Liezel’s lap as she is part of the cast of Kapuso sitcom “Walang Matigas Na Pulis Sa Matinik Na Misis.” Starring Beauty Gonzalez and Senator Bong Revilla, the sitcom is now in its second season.

For a change, Liezel is not playing a kontrabida role in “Walang Matigas Na Pulis Sa Matinik Na Misis” as she plays a “medyo kikay, bibbo” policewoman trainee.

She says, “Actually, sobrang unexpected blessing sa akin ‘tong ‘Walang Matigas’ kasi nagulat nga ako na kinuha nila ako, kasi usually talaga, ang ginagawa ko is kontrabida roles, di ba?

“So, parang na-happy ako na naging added blessing siya this year.”

Liezel is also happy that she gets to do comedy again after her stint in “Bubble Gang” ended a few years back.

With all of the blessings she has received, Liezel is thankful to her management, Sparkle GMA Artist Center, for giving her good projects that will hone her skills even more.
