Liza Soberano Becomes Presenter At The 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards

Liza meets “Parasite” director Bong Joon Ho during the awards night!

Liza Soberano took the stage as one of the presenters at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2024.

The awards night, which focused on honoring renowned anime creators for their works, was held in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday, March 2.

Sharing glimpses of her experience on Instagram, Liza expressed her excitement and gratitude, saying, “Congratulations to all of the winners of the @animeawards.official 2024 and thank you so much to @crunchyroll for having me! Can’t wait to be back in Japan.”

During the ceremony, Liza presented the award for Best Anime Song. Reflecting on her love for anime music, she remarked, “One of the things that truly excites me about anime is the incredible music. When you see that opening sequence, you hear that amazing theme song, and in an instant, you are totally immersed into the world.”

The Best Anime Song award went to “Idol” by Yoasobi for Oshi no Ko.

On March 4, Liza posted a picture of her with award-winning Korean director Bong Joon Ho on her Instagram page.

Bong Joon Ho is an internationally renowned Korean director who is best known for his film “Parasite.”

She captioned the post, “Still not over the @animeawards.official!!! What an honor to be amongst legends in the anime, film and entertainment spaces. Thank you @crunchyroll for the incredible opportunity!”

Before attending the Anime Awards, Liza was in Los Angeles, California, attending the premiere of her Hollywood debut film, “Lisa Frankenstein,” on February 5.

Expressing pride in the film, she added, “I’m so proud of this wonderfully bonkers film we made that was born out of love for horror/comedy and a passion for storytelling.”

Liza also recently attended the 2024 Screen Actors Guild awards in LA. She wore an outfit by American designer Pamella Roland from her pre-fall 2024.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Liza discussed her plans following her Hollywood debut, stating, “The general plan right now is to stay in the States for at least a good year and get a feel for how things are going for me and my career.”

She added, “But I will be traveling back and forth to Asia just because I have a lot of brand-related commitments that I need to attend to. So the majority of my acting career will be focused on the States, and all of my modeling and endorsements will come from Asia.”
