Liza Soberano will be playing the stepsister of Kathryn Newton’s character in the movie
“Lisa Frankenstein” is a horror rom-com movie to be released in time for Valentine’s Day 2024. Based on the trailer, the film gives off vintage vibes from the ’80s.
The movie, which serves as Liza’s Hollywood debut, is scheduled for release on February 9, 2023.
Liza plays the role of Taffy, the stepsister of Kathryn Newton’s character, Lisa.
She appeared many times in the trailer sporting classic ’80s outfits and a cheerleader uniform, all while delivering lines in her Hollywood debut film.
Liza shared the screen with Hollywood actors Cole Sprouse and Kathryn Newton in the horror comedy inspired by the Gothic novel “Frankenstein.”
The film’s official synopsis reads: “Set in 1989, ‘Lisa Frankenstein’ follows an unpopular high school student who accidentally reanimates a handsome Victorian corpse during a lightning storm and starts to rebuild him into the man of her dreams.”
The film was written and produced by Diablo Cody, the Oscar-winning writer of “Juno.” It also marks Zelda Williams’ directorial debut. Zelda is the daughter of late actor and comedian Robin Williams.
“Lisa Frankenstein” also features notable cast members such as Carla Gugino, Henry Eikenberry, and Joe Chrest.
Liza, known for her blockbuster Filipino films and TV series, including “Alone/Together,” “My Ex and Whys,” and “Forevermore,” recently took to Hollywood and South Korea to expand her career opportunities.
