Congratulations, Lovi and Monty!
After “a couple of years,” actress Lovi Poe has gone public with her engagement to her longtime boyfriend, British film producer Monty Blencowe.
The actress took to Instagram on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, to share a reel with videos of a seaside sunrise leading up to a clip of her wearing what appears to be an engagement ring.
In the caption, she wrote: “A couple of years ago, there were two coffees, one sunrise, and a ring. We’ve shared and celebrated this moment quietly with our family and closest friends, so we’re now more than happy to share this sweet #lifeupdate with you.”
The reel, which now has almost 400,000 views, received an outpour of congratulations from Lovi’s celebrity friends and colleagues.
Among those who congratulated Lovi and her fiance were Angelica Panganiban, Jessy Mendiola, Isabel Oli, Denise Laurel, Glaiza De Castro, Yam Concepcion, and her “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” co-star Cherry Pie Picache.
Apart from the said post, the daughter of the late Action King Fernando Poe Jr. also shared an Instagram Story of her mom and Monty’s mom “celebrating with them.”
Lovi and Monty’s Romance
Known for being private about details of their relationship, the couple only shared snippets of their moments and getaways together on social media.
Lovi and Monty were first spotted together in 2019, and went Instagram-official with him that same year when she shared a photo of them attending the Royal Ascot together.
Since then, they’ve maintained a low-key long-distance relationship, with Lovi based in the Philippines and Monty based in the United States. Despite this, the Kapamilya actress maintained that they are very happy with their relationship.
Lovi currently stars in the popular Kapamilya primetime series “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” where she plays Mokang, the love interest of Coco Martin (Tanggol).
