Michael V. Shuts Down “Pepito Manaloto” Cancellation Rumors

He cleared the air surrounding the recent group photo the cast posted on their social media pages

Michael V. dismissed speculations surrounding the future of the popular GMA-7 comedy series “Pepito Manaloto,” putting an end to rumors suggesting that the show is ending soon.

During an interview with “24 Oras Weekend” on April 20, Michael V. addressed the rumors head-on, assuring fans that the show is not scheduled to end anytime soon.

He clarified that their recent social media posts, particularly a group hug photo shared by the cast, were simply meant as a gesture of appreciation rather than a farewell.

Diretsahang sagot. Hindi,” he said. “Yung photo naman na lumabas, yung group hug na yun, actually yung photo na ‘yun is ang nire-represent nun is yung remembrance, appreciation.”

Despite the challenges brought about by the pandemic, Michael V. expressed gratitude for the enduring fellowship among the cast, emphasizing that they remain united both on and off-screen.

He also teased fans with news of an upcoming “summer special” filmed in Nueva Ecija.

Natutuwa lang kami na after all these years na after ng pandemic, magkakasama pa rin kami,” he said.

Echoing Michael V.’s sentiments, his co-star Manilyn Reynes shared her heartfelt appreciation for the unwavering support from the audience throughout the show’s remarkable 14-year run.

Reflecting on their journey together, Manilyn is amazed at how the show and its viewers held on for the long years the shows have been running.

She said, “Naiiyak kami kasi hindi po namin maisip na hanggang ngayon sa tinagal ng ‘Pepito Manaloto,’ 14 years na kami, talagang nandiyan sila simula’t simula. Nakakataba ng puso.”

Rumors surrounding the finale of “Pepito Manaloto” surfaced when the cast each posted a group photo of everyone hugging in a sentimental way.

In Michael V’s post, he emphasized the familial bond shared not only among the cast but also with the show’s creators, crew, and dedicated audience.

The comedian captioned his post, “‘Pepito Manaloto’ is more than just a fictional family on TV. It’s a real family that extends to its cast, writers, staff, crew, the network and most of all, our beloved audience.”

Michael V. ended his post by thanking fans for their continued love and support, while refraining from delving further into the speculation surrounding the show’s future.

Maraming, maraming salamat po sa oras at pagmamahal ninyong lahat,” he added.
