Michelle reveals that she ended up kicking her ex out of the party!
Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee takes a trip down memory lane to share about an incident involving her ex-partner and a leading man.
Together with her mother, Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez, the 28-year-old beauty queen graced the debut episode of “It’s Showtime” under the Kapuso network on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
Guesting for the “EXpecially For You” segment, Michelle’s challenge was to match with a potential love interest through the help of her mother.

Deep into the interview, the roster of searchees composed of Kevin Ty, Martin Javier, and a certain Atty. Oliver from Cebu were asked how they would handle if ever their partner would have to do a kissing scene for a film or series.
After searchees no. 1 and 2 stated their thoughts on the situation, Michelle chimes in to recall an incident that bears so much similarity.
She shares, “Bakit yung ex ko…so may ka-kissing scene ako sa movie ko. So, nung dumating na sa thanksgiving party ko yung actor na ‘to saka kasama yung boyfriend na kilala niyong lahat, kasama ko siya sa teleserye ngayon, gustong suntukin ng ex ko yung co-actor ko na best friend ko.”
Vice iterates, “Hindi niya matanggap na may dumadampi sa’yong labi,” to which Michelle quickly replies with, “Hindi niya matanggap!”
She adds, “Pero siyempre trabaho lang. Gusto niyang suntukin, sabi ko ‘luh?’” In response, Vice quips, “Kung ganun, unang-una, dapat lipstick pa lang inaway na niya kasi dumampi sa labi mo.”
Michelle elaborates that the scene has escalated quickly, given that there are many people who extended their congratulations during her victory party.
“Una pa lang, victory party ko. Siyempre, pangalawa, lahat ng tao dun magco-congratulate sa’kin and sa kanya. Inaway niya lahat ng tao dun. So kinick out ko tuloy siya,” she finishes.
Just after a quick recall from Michelle, Vice then hands off the focus to searchee no. 3—who gives just the same level of assurance that Kevin and Martin gave.
Michelle Dee picks crown over romance
At the earlier part of the segment, Michelle was asked by Vice Ganda how her heart had been—given that she would be sitting as a searcher.
Michelle quips, “Ang puso ko? Kaya nga ako nandito ‘di ba? Siyempre, may hinahanap ang puso!”
When asked by Vhong when was the last time she fell in love, Michelle was quick in saying that she falls in love every single time.
Elaborating further, she says, “Kasi mahal ko lahat kayo! Kung wala mang the one, at least we have all of our kababayans. ‘Di ba?”
Vice presses, “Pero love life, kelan ka ba… when was your last relationship,” to which replies with, “Matagal na ate Vice. Matagal tagal na. Parang 2020.”
With her heart vacant for around four years now, Michelle reveals that she actually tried courting someone in 2023. However, it did not go well for she had to pick her priorities.
Michelle shares, “Last year, may nililigawan ako. Last year. Yun nga lang basted ako. Niligawan ko kasi yung korona. Medyo na-basted ako, ilang taon po ang binigay ko para sa korona.”
Michelle Dee was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2023 after her failed attempts in 2022–wherein she only landed as first runner-up.
Going into Miss Universe, Michelle was deemed as a heavy favorite—finishing the competition just an inch behind a podium placement.
Considered as a veteran beauty queen, Michelle has adequate experience in pageants—including a commendable top-12 finish during Miss World 2019 in London, England.
