Is Nikki really unprofessional?
“Very unprofessional.”
Ito ang isiniwalat ni Miss Grand International founder Nawat Itsaragrisil tungkol sa pambato ng Pilipinas na si Nikki de Moura matapos itong hindi makasama sa Top 20 ng nasabing international pageant.

Umani ng batikos si Nawat kasunod ng hindi pagkakabilang ni Nikki sa final 20 ng Miss Grand International na ginanap sa Vietnam noong Miyerkules, October 25, 2023.
Ayon sa mga sumusuporta sa 19-anyos na beauty queen, “cooking show” daw ang naging pageant, na ibig sabihin ay luto ang mga resulta.
Sabi pa nila, ang naging trato kay Nikki ay gaya ng ilan pang kandidata na ipinadala ng Pilipinas sa naturang pageant sa loob ng labing-isang taon.
Matatandaang si Nicole Cordoves (2016) at Samantha Bernardo (2020) pa lamang ang nakasungkit ng mataas ng puwesto matapos nilang maiuwi ang first runner-up title mula sa pageant na ito.
Bilang sagot, naglabas si Nawat ng isang TikTok video, “real story” aniya, kung bakit hindi napabilang si Nikki sa Top 20.
Ayon sa kanya, hindi raw marunong makisama ang dalaga, “It’s very difficult to cooperate, every day until the end of day. She did what she [wanted]. She [doesn’t] pay attention to others. She [doesn’t] respect. She [doesn’t] have responsibility.”
Giit ni Nawat, hindi na niya kasalanan kung bakit hindi kasali si Nikki. Malaki aniya ang investment ng pageant, at sinasayang raw ni Nikki ang pera sa pamamagitan ng hindi pakikipag-cooperate.
“We invested a lot of money from day 1 to rehearsal up to finals and not showing up makes her very unprofessional,” saad ni Nawat.
Sinabi rin niyang hindi dapat si Nikki ang kinoronahan sa local counterpart nito na Miss Grand Philippines na pinamumunuan ni Arnold Vegafria—ang national director nito.
“The problem with you is choosing the wrong candidate to compete, from day one she has a lot of problem/fault. You Filipinos stop blaming me as you have chosen the wrong candidate to compete.”

Bago ang sunod-sunod na rebelasyon, nauna nang sinabi ni Nawat sa parehong video na umalis daw kaagad si Nikki matapos hindi tawagin ang pangalan nito.
Saad niya, “After not top 20, she quick back, pack, and go out from the backstage. Even so many people, security, going to talk, because we invest a lot of money, almost one month to make a good show.”
Siwalat pa niya (published as is), “A lot of rehearsal, we pay a lot, but she don’t care anyone. She want to skip, she want to walk. She’s not polite to everyone around her, to run out, not going on the stage.”
Iginiit din niyang sinalubong ni Arnold si Nikki sa backstage upang dumamay at tulungan ang beauty queen na umalis sa venue.

Matapos ang coronation night, naghain si Nikki ng isa madamdaming post sa Instagram tungkol sa kanyang pagkatalo.

“I understand I may still be young, I will continue to work hard, learn, and grow, because I believe that disappointment is only a stepping stone to future success. This is not the end… just the start of something greater, and I’m excited to see where life’s adventures will take me.
“Now, I stand before you, not as a part of the top 20, but as someone who gave her all.”

Kinumpleto ng mga delegado mula sa Myanmar, United States, Puerto Rico, Nigeria, Czech Republic, Indonesia, Honduras, Laos, Dominican Republic, Colombia, India, Ukraine, Thailand, Angola, Netherlands, Uzbekistan, France, Spain, at Vietnam ang Top 20.
