Ever wonder how the OG influencer from our childhoods, Carly Shay, would handle being an internet personality in 2021’s much more social media-focused world? Well, you don’t have to wait that much longer, because we finally got an official premiere date and it’s much closer than we anticipated!
On Instagram, the stars of the iCarly reboot posted a picture of themselves with Miranda Cosgrove, who is resuming her role as Carly, holding up a piece of paper that says “iCarly Premieres June 17th on Paramount+.”
Cosgrove isn’t the only member of the original iCarly gang that’s returning. Jerry Trainor, who played Carly’s brother Spencer, and Nathan Kress, who played Freddie, are also returning to play their iconic roles.
There will also be two new members joining the cast. Laci Mosley from A Black Lady Sketch Show and Single Parents and Jaidyn Triplett from The Affair are the latest additions to the iCarly team! Mosley will be playing Harper, who is Carly’s roommate and best friend, and Triplett will be playing Millicent, Freddie’s stepdaughter.
As the announcement shows, Paramount+ is where the revival series has found its home and will be premiering in less than a month. We can’t wait to see how Carly is handling all the internet fame as a young adult in today’s world or how the new characters fit into her story! Until then, we’re definitely enjoying all the behind-the-scenes content the cast has been blessing us with.
