Who’s excited for the 2021 MTV VMAs?
The annual show, set to be held at the Barclays Center in New York City, will be having performances from Olivia Rodrigo, Lorde, Camila Cabello, Lil Nas X, and Machine Gun Kelly.
“I wouldn’t miss it if I were you,” MTV said.
Lorde, Camila, and Lil Nas X have already graced the VMAs stage before, while Olivia and Machine Gun Kelly will be making their debut performances this year.
Olivia will sing her chart-topping single “Good 4 U,” which was also nominated for the “Best Pop” award at the VMAs. Meanwhile, Machine Gun Kelly will perform his song “Papercuts” from his recently released album “Born with Horns.”
Lorde, who danced to “Homemade Dynamite” at the VMAs in 2017, will be making a comeback performance with a “Solar Power” medley.
Camila will be singing “Don’t Go Yet,” following her “Señorita” performance with Shawn Mendes in 2019. Lil Nas X, who also performed in 2019, will “bring yet another genre-defying hit to the VMAs stage.”
The awards show last year was also initially set to be held in front of a live audience at the Barclays Center. However, most of the performances, speeches, and other appearances ended up being pre-recorded due to the pandemic. This year, “plans for an audience for the show have yet to be announced,” according to Variety.
The 2021 MTV VMAs will be held on September 12, 2021, and will be streamed on Viacom CBS networks, including Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, The CW Network, and Logo, among others.
