Jason Dy Hopes To Collaborate With Ex “The Voice” Coach Sarah Geronimo

Jason on working with Sarah: “Sana makapag-duet kami”

Singer Jason Dy has expressed his interest in collaborating with Sarah Geronimo—his former “The Voice Philippines” mentor who helped him win the second season of the singing contest.

The 33-year-old OPM singer was interviewed by some members of the press during the launch of his newest single, “Magsabi Ka Lang,” on Thursday, February 29, 2024.

On the prospect of having dream collaborations with any local artist, Jason says that he is currently working on a new musical piece, which he will try to pitch to Sarah.

He says, “May pinag-uusapan. I have plans, siyempre. Ang wish ko talaga na sana matuloy finally is with Sarah Geronimo, my coach, oo.

Sana matuloy yun. I’m writing a song tapos ita-try kong i-pitch kay coach Sarah na sana makapag-duet kami.

Aside from his dream of collaborating with Sarah, Jason is also hopeful of a musical project with other OPM singers—one of which is “Tawag ng Tanghalan” Season 2 Grand Champion Janine Berdin.

As he puts it, “ But there’s so many other artist na rin I’m really looking forward to work with. I’m hoping to work with Janine, Janine Berdin. I’m a huge fan of her.

Sino pa ba? Marami pa. Maraming mga up and coming artist that I really wanna collaborate with.”

It’s been nine years since the singer won his season of “The Voice Philippines” in 2015, and he has never been more immersed in his craft. Such a claim evidently manifests as he expands his reach internationally and takes his seat among the hurados of “Tawag Ng Tanghalan.”

He says, “What’s next for me? More music, definitely. I’m still writing, still making music.

“I’m very happy that I’m now part of ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan.’ Isa na ‘kong hurado ngayon, so it’s a full-circle moment kasi ‘di ba , galing ako sa reality singing competition and now I get to judge also.

“So, that’s very fun. And of course, I love performing so I hope to do more performances and concerts in the future sa mga Kapamilya natin abroad, sa mga concert tours. May mga niluluto kami so sana mag-push through.”

Jason recently released “Magsabi Ka Lang,” —a musical piece that taps on one of the stages of grief—bargaining. It follows his previous release “Ulit-Ulit” which is also part of the series focused on denial.
