Selena Gomez Receives Her First-Ever Grammy Nomination

After getting her first Latin Grammy nomination earlier this year, Selena Gomez is celebrating another big milestone in her career: her first Grammy nod!

“Are you kidding me!? ‘Revelación’ is nominated for a GRAMMY,” the 29-year-old singer posted on Instagram.

“This project is so special to me for so many reasons and I could not have made it happen without this incredible team of people by my side. I am forever grateful to each and every one of you ♥️ and of course MY FANS,” she added.

Selena got her first Grammy nomination in the category “Best Latin Pop Album” for “Revelación,” her first Spanish-language EP. Other nominees include Pablo Alborán for “Vértigo,” Paula Arenas for “Mis Amores,” Ricardo Arjona for “Hecho a la Antigua,” Camilo for “Mis Manos,” and Alex Cuba for “Mendó.”

Meanwhile, Selena received her first Latin Grammy nod for “De Una Vez,” which was nominated in the “Best Short Form Music Video” category.

In an interview with Zane Lowe in January 2021, Selena said that “Revelación” is meaningful to her because of its connection to her roots.

“This has been something I’ve wanted to do for 10 years, working on a Spanish project, because I’m so, so proud of my heritage, and just genuinely felt like I wanted this to happen,” she said.

“And it happened, and I feel like it’s the perfect timing.”
