Nightbirde Drops Out of ‘America’s Got Talent’ Due to Health Issues

Just a little over a month since her stunning performance on America’s Got Talent, Jane Marczewski, or Nightbirde, has decided to drop out of the competition due to complications from cancer.

She posted a long, heartfelt note on Instagram to explain her withdrawal.

“Sharing my heart with the world on ‘AGT’ has been an honor and a dream come true. My point of view this summer has been astounding,” she wrote. “What a miracle that the pain I’ve walked through can be reworked into beauty that makes people all over the world open their eyes wider.”

“Since my audition, my health has taken a turn for the worse and the fight with cancer is demanding all of my energy and attention. I am so sad to announce that I won’t be able to continue forward on this season of ‘AGT,’” she continued. “Life doesn’t always give breaks to those that deserve it — but we knew that already. Thank you for all your support, it means the world to me. Stay with me, I’ll be better soon. I’m planning my future, not my legacy. Pretty beat up, but I’ve still got dreams.”

The 30-year-old singer went viral in June for her touching song and inspirational outlook on life. During her audition, Marczewski informed the audience and judges that she had cancer in the lungs, spine, and liver that left her with only a 2% chance of survival.

“But two percent is not zero percent,” she told AGT. “Two percent is something, and I wish people knew how amazing it is.”

Her original song, “It’s OK,” reflected her honest optimism and touched the hearts of many for its heartwarming message of comfort. Judge Simon Cowell was particularly moved by her performance, giving Marczewski the coveted golden buzzer that would have sent her straight to the competition’s live shows.

For now, Marczewski is concentrating on fighting her battle against cancer. Fortunately, AGT supports her decision; their Instagram account commented under Marczewski’s post and said, “We’re keeping you in our thoughts for a full recovery!”
