Meet The Cast Of PETA’s “One More Chance” The Musical

Popoy and Basha’s love story will soon hit the theater stage!

The 2007 blockbuster film “One More Chance” will have its theatrical run, as leads and other cast members were announced by the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) on Sunday, January 28, 2024.

For the theater remake, Sam Concepcion and CJ Navato will take turns reliving the character of Popoy, while Anna Luna and Nicole Omillo will alternately play Basha.

John Lloyd Cruz originally played Popoy while Bea Alonzo took the role of Basha in the 2007 film directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana.

The four leads will be joined by Kiara Takahashi and Sheena Belarmina as they share the character of Tricia. Jeff Florez and Jay Gonzaga, on the other hand, will alternately play the role of Mark.

Completing the cast ensemble are Ada Tayao and Rica Laguardia as Krissy, Poppert Bernada and Paji Arceo as Kenneth, Via Antonio and Dippy Arceo as Anj, Johnnie Moran as Chinno, and Jon Abella as JP.

What audience can expect from “One More Chance” The Musical?

According to PETA’s announcement, the musical will run from April 12 to June 16, 2024—with all shows to be staged at the PETA Theater Center. In addition to this, the remake will feature music pieces from OPM band Ben & Ben.

Months after it was announced in October 2023, PETA is now gearing up for the announcement of ticket prices and selling dates soon.

“One More Chance” The Musical follows PETA’s series of jukebox theater stagings, including “Rak of Aegis,” “Three Stars and a Sun,” “Walang Aray,” and “Tabing Ilog: The Musical.”

As for the plot, the film revolves around the lives of two college lovers, Popoy and Basha, who have seen themselves growing indifferent after years of being together. Deluded with opposite ambitions, they then parted ways only to find themselves with the urge to rekindle what was lost.

With its well-received run in 2007, it was reported to have a total of 152.7 million box-office gross. It was also given a sequel in 2015 titled “A Second Chance” still bannered by Bea and John Lloyd.
