In an online media conference held on Wednesday, November 29, the muses have dropped some hints of what to expect from their solo performances, on top of their group production numbers for the concert.

“Limitless Star” Julie Anne was first to answer, “Actually, itong spot ko, never ko pa siyang… I mean hindi siya yung usual na song or like genre na kinakanta ko palagi.

Kasi, like, usually, pop or ballad or R&B. So this time, I’ll be singing a classic song.”

While Julie Anne cannot disclose yet the title of the song, she says that she is very excited to perform this piece.

Rita, on the other hand, is set to sing a “pasabog” song. The 28-year-old singer says so, because this would be the first time she will be singing the song.

Rita further teases, “Halos lahat ng singers na nakasama ko sa GMA, lahat ‘to nakanta na nila. Pero ako, never ko pa ‘to nakanta.

“So lagi ko ‘tong naririnig, so this is my first time singing it  live, at kakantahin ko ‘to syempre sa concert namin, so abangan niyo yan.”

For Hannah’s piece, she points out that it will have a “malalim na kwento.” More so, she recalls having to perform this song in the past, but she was too young back then. But regardless, she hints that it would be a touching and emotional one.

Just like Hannah, Thea would also perform a piece she had already rendered in the past. But coming off differently, she says that her performance would be “leaning towards the edgier side.”

“So, I’m staying true to, kung ano yung call ko when it comes to performing. So it’ll be, I think, this one’s different.  And yeah, kinakabahan, but I think it will be good.

Meanwhile, Jessica says her piece would bare all that she is— flesh and soul. She teases, “Dito niyo po talaga makikita kung sino kami.”

But as for the genre, viewers may expect a power ballad, as she confirms, “Basta yung mga birit po namin, abangan niyo na lang po. Kasi for sure, yun po yung papakita ko po. Yun po yung sa akin. Abangan niyo na lang po.”

Lastly, Mariane says that her surprise song would fit rightly with her moniker, which is the “Ultimate Siren.”

Para sa akin ah, isa siya sa pinaka-challenging na song na kakantahin ko. So, mahirap siya and sana magustuhan ng Queenies yon—mga supporters ko— kasi ito yung gusto nilang ipakanta sa akin,” she reveals.

Markings of a true queen

In the same online conference, Rita, Hannah, Thea, Jessica, Mariane, and Julie Anne were asked what values constitute a true queen.

As for Rita, she shares that her son Uno’s existence makes her feel like a queen. She even emphasizes that this feeling dawned upon her motherhood, and it boosts her confidence.

Meanwhile, for Thea, she thinks that a queen is someone “who knows how to listen.” Just like her friendship with the rest of Queendom, she says they all listen to each other’s advice—be it in singing or life in general.

“Inspiration” centers Hannah’s vision of a true queen. For her, a true queen is of service to others, those that touch the lives of others, and those that stand as a giver of positive advice.

Mariane then says she feels like a true queen whenever she stands among other members of the Queendom. She elaborates that, such is so, because, “Alam naman natin kung gaano sila ka-powerful.

“And yet, being aware na powerful sila, napaka-humble pa rin nila and very reassuring,” she adds.

Jessica, on the other hand, equates a queen to a supporter. Her reason for this is the collective support that they give to each other whenever they perform as a group. In fact, she reveals being each other’s anchor, as they thrive individually without competition.

Julie Anne takes on a new meaning of a queen as someone “who is living the best version of herself.

“She is someone who is not afraid to fail or to fall. She’s someone who is willing to take risks. She speaks of love and kindness, especially to herself,” she adds.

Queendom: Live is directed by Miguel Tanchanco and is produced by GMA Synergy and GMA Entertainment Group.

The event aims to celebrate all the laudable milestones of these musicians, as it also aims to provide a vocal and visual spectacle that will serve as an empowering moment for Filipinas.
