Still, Sarah and Richard are keeping their kids well-taken care of
Showbiz couple Sarah Lahbati and Richard Gutierrez have cut off their communication with each other—as revealed by the actress in an interview on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
Sarah has not directly confirmed their separation, but her interview with TV5’s “Frontline Pilipinas” reveals they haven’t been cordial with each other and are not sharing the same household anymore.
The actress-model shows reservation and only answers a short “No,” when asked if “Nag-uusap na kayo ni Richard ngayon?”
More so, Sarah confirms that they are currently co-parenting their two kids, Zion and Kai, separately. Speaking about their current set-up, Sarah shares, “It’s not easy on any child, but I’m here for them and they’re better.
“Well, of course, it’s not ideal for the children. Let’s go back to the kids. But that’s life and that’ll be fine,” she adds.

While there may be some lapses in their relationship, Sarah also assures that their kids are well-taken care of.
She says, “We’re good at parenting and we have, you know, we are there for the kids. That’s all I’m gonna say.”
Currently, Sarah has been living in her new house—with transitions made easier by her family and close friends Sofia Andres and Kyline Alcantara.
News of Sarah and Richard’s strained relationship started in November 2023, when eagle-eyed netizens noticed that the couple haven’t been uploading photos of them together—only separate photos with their kids.

The rumor was solidified more clearly when Sarah unfollowed Richard on Instagram, while also shortening her bio “Sarah Lahbati-Gutierrez” to just “SLG.” Eventually, the initials were also wiped out of her bio.

How does Sarah Lahbati deal with bashing?
In the same interview, Sarah shares that the key to happiness is to shut down negativity and never take things seriously.
She shares, “We have to think, take things lightly, di ba? Or else, puputi yung buhok natin at di tayo magiging happy.”
This has been Sarah’s mindset, especially now that she is labeled “Patron Saint of Waldas.” The moniker started when Sarah’s mother-in-law, Anabelle Rama accused her of recklessly spending money on shopping instead of working.
Sarah says, “Natutuwa ako sa lahat ng mga tumawag sa akin ng ‘Patron Saint of Waldas.’ As in, natatawa ako. Every day may comment about it, so sinakyan ko nang konti.”
