The anime features an all-new interpretation of the DC villains
The series will feature characters from DC Comics’ popular “Suicide Squad,” and Eri Osada will serve as the director at WIT Studio.
The character drafts for the series have been created by Akira Amano, while Naoto Hosoda will be responsible for the character designs.
Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara will be working on the screenplay. Both are well-known for their work on the hit original anime series “Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song.”
“Suicide Squad,” a DC Comics series, was revamped by John Ostrander, and the characters first appeared in “The Brave and The Bold” comics from the 1950s. The franchise has already seen two successful movies released in 2016 and 2021, earning a combined total of $914 million worldwide.
WIT Studio is highly regarded in the anime industry, having produced popular series such as “Attack on Titan,” “Vinland Saga,” and “Spy x Family.” Their notable works also include “Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song,” “Ranking of Kings,” “Great Pretender,” “The Ancient Magus’ Bride,” “The Girl From the Other Side,” and “Bubble.”
Warner Bros., an American entertainment studio established in 1923, is the parent company of DC Comics. Known for its superhero shows and movies like “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” “Wonder Woman,” and “Justice League,” Warner Bros. has James Gunn as the creative head of the company.
Warner Bros. Japan, founded in 1992, has produced several well-known anime series. These include “Mob Psycho 100,” “Food Wars!,” “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure,” and the recent “Tonikawa: Over The Moon For You.”
