“Parang mas mature sila kaysa sa amin,” admits Sunshine
Sunshine Dizon has good words for the love teams she has worked with in “Pira-pirasong Paraiso.”
The series features the tandems of Loisa Andalio & Ronnie Alonte (LoiNie) and Alexa Ilacad & KD Estrada (KDLex).
Sunshine openly says that these love teams are “more mature” compared to the time when she was in a love team.
As a teen star in the ‘90s, Sunshine was also once a part of a love team with actor Polo Ravales. They were able to do the shows “T.G.I.S.,” “Anna Karenina,” and the movies “Honey, My Love, So Sweet” and “Kiss Mo ‘Ko.”
During the duration of their love team, they also became real-life sweethearts.
At the recent media conference for the upcoming finale of “Pira-pirasong Paraiso,” FreebieMNL asked Sunshine about her observations with these team-ups.
Sunshine shares, “Ang na-notice ko ngayon, parang mas mature sila kaysa sa amin, parang mas batang isip kami, totoo, ha. Hindi, to be honest.
“Kasi sila, I would see Loisa and R2 talk about a scene and how to do it, I would see naman Alex and KD, parang one time, I think Alex was sick. ‘You had migraine ano?’
“Alam mo, KD was there, taking care of her, ‘tapos I was talking to KD, giving advice na don’t do this ganyan ganyan, my usual nanay self.
“Parang mas matured na sila kaysa sa amin noon. Kami, kapag hindi mo gustong kausapin, hindi mo papansinin! Ganun talaga, totoo.”
Laughing, she then puts a disclaimer about what she just shared: “Ako lang yun, ha! Hindi ko alam! I’m just speaking for myself.”
“Pira-pirasong Paraiso” is headlined by Loisa, Alexa, Elisse Joson, and Charlie Dizon. The series, which is the first collaboration between ABS-CBN and TV5, will air its finale on Saturday, January 27.

A bright future for “Pira-pirasong Paraiso” girls
Talking about the four lead stars of the show, Sunshine sees a bright future for them after the series.
She says, “It’s really up to them kasi ngayon, nakita mo from day one hanggang last day ko, ang laki talaga ng iniba ng confidence and iba rin yung bonding nila.”
Being in the industry for more than 30 years and having done projects as a leading lady, Sunshine has somewhat of a hunch of who will last long in the industry.
She continues, “There’s always this thing that you see in an actor na alam mong tatagal, e. There’s this gusto. I don’t know how to explain that.
“Parang magic yan, e, na hindi mo ma-explain pero makikita mo, ito tatagal ito. Ah, ito, parang hindi masyado, may ganun kang nafi-feel.
“Ako, I hope and pray na sana, kung anuman lumabas sa bibig ko ay magkatotoo because I really see a bright future for all of them because I feel like they really love and enjoy what they’re doing.”
