Sunshine: “Matutong sumabay sa agos ng buhay importante wala kang tinapakan at niyurakan.”
Award-winning actress Sunshine Dizon takes to Instagram some of her self-affirmations, realizations, and even wishes to critics in celebration of her 40th birthday on July 3.
In an Instagram post uploaded on Monday, Sunshine delves into meaningful epiphanies in the life of a forty-year-old woman. While doing so, she also addresses detractors who chose to sidetrack her for reasons she opts out from disclosing.
“So as they say, life begins at forty. Guess will be doing that starting now. Thank you for all the love and support. Promise that no matter how others may have painted a different picture of me, I will always strive to be a better human being in spite of and despite of,” she begins.
Sunshine then extends her gratitude to people who stick with her, mentioning “those who have never left my side” and “those who continued to believe.”
“And to those who have judged me unfairly, believe me when I say I will be vindicated. And when that day comes I pray you find peace knowing you intentionally ruined one’s name for your own gain,” she adds in a seeming attempt to place diplomacy and acceptance over the pain instigated on her.
“I pray you sleep soundly at peace at night knowing ‘the all knowing’ knows the truth. Bilog ang mundo minsan sa taas minsan sa baba. Matutong sumabay sa agos ng buhay importante wala kang tinapakan at niyurakan,” she adds.
Sunshine then shares one of her greatest realizations: that friendships are only as good as the kind of people you treat as friends.
“Now that I’m forty, the best thing I learned from life is choose your friends wisely and who you allow to come in your circle cause you never know when you’re actually raising a snake you treated as more than a family but will eventually swallow you whole,” she states.
“Ask while I can still smile because I’m blessed, you can never put a good woman down,” she finishes in a self-affirming note.
Sunshine Dizon is always a Papa’s Girl
In another Instagram post, the actress reminisced about her late father, Isagani Dizon Jr., as she shares a heartfelt Viber exchange with her Papa during her birthday in 2022.
On March 20, 2023 a bereaved Sunshine announced the death of her father who died peacefully in his sleep.
Sunshine was recently announced as one of the cast of ABS-CBN and TV5’s teleserye “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso.” She joins the cast ensemble composed of a roster of artists including Alexa Ilacad, KD Estrada, Joseph Marco, Elisse Joson, Charlie Dizon, Loisa Andalio, Epy Quizon, and Art Acuña.
