Is Toni Gonzaga Reprising Her Role As “Pinoy Big Brother” Host Soon?

Toni: “It’s their time to shine”

Toni Gonzaga hands off her microphone as a “Pinoy Big Brother” host, saying that she’s giving way to a new set of hosts to take charge of the ABS-CBN’s reality show.

In a guest appearance on “The Baklitas” hosted by Kapitana Sisa and Tita Cory, the 40-year-old actress-host reveals that the time she spent doing “Pinoy Big Brother” has already come to an end.

Toni shares, “Feeling ko, may mga bagong magagaling na hosts and it’s their time to shine. Feeling ko, the 16 years that I’ve given sa ‘PBB,’ parang ano na yon, that was special and memorable in my heart.”

Toni also emphasizes that “PBB” is in good hands as she praises her former co-hosts in the show: Bianca Gonzales, Melai Cantiveros, Robi Domingo, Kim Chiu, and Enchong Dee.

She says, “Sobrang gagaling na ngayon ng mga host ng ‘PBB’ and I’m sure they will continue the legacy ni Kuya.

“Kuya” is the voice that helms the program, including the task delegations, the nominations, and other announcements.

When asked if she misses appearing on television, Toni has this to say: “Nakaka-miss yung dati kong ginagawa. May miss factor. But ngayon, intentional ko na every time you take a project, so mas excited ka nang mag-work.

Dati kasi, parang autopilot—guesting dito, guesting doon…lagarista to the max,” she adds.

Why did Toni Gonzaga leave “Pinoy Big Brother?”

Toni Gonzaga has sat at the center of controversy after she took up a hosting gig for the campaign rallies and proclamation rally of then-presidential and vice-presidential candidates Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Sarah Duterte in 2022.

This gesture was heavily criticized by many, as some of the senatoriables under the Marcos-Duterte slate held bearing on the shutdown of ABS-CBN—Toni’s home network.

Toni aired her resignation as the main host of “PBB” on February 9, 2022, a day after hosting the campaign, At that time, Toni said that working for the Kapamilya program was a privilege in itself as much as working with Kuya is.

The reality show is slated to return this year, though no details yet have been released. Toni, on the other hand, dipped her toes back to doing films, with her movie “My Sassy Girl” now showing nationwide.
