Did Vice Ganda Strike Back At Juan Ponce Enrile’s Recent Tirades?

Vice says “I still love you po” in a seeming response to Enrile’s tirades

Vice Ganda airs meaningful words about lolos following former Senator Juan Ponce Enrile’s verbal attacks against him.

During the “Mini Miss U” segment of “It’s Showtime” on Monday, September 11, the 47-year-old comedian granted a contestant’s request to give her lolo a shoutout.

According to the contestant, her lolo looks up on Vice as an idol.

After greeting the kid’s grandfather, Vice then took the opportunity to say, “Nakakatuwa. Ang daming lolong nanonood sa akin. Ang daming lolong nakatutok sa akin, di ba?

“At love ako ng mga lolos. Hi sa mga lolos na love na love ako. Love natin ang mga lolos.”

Vice then humorously says: “My God, sa social media ang dami ding nagsa-shoutout sa akin. My God, I’m so relevant and famous.”

As the conversation progresses, co-host Jhong Hilario points out that Vice receives affection from the elderly since his humor gives them a boost.

As the comedian emphasizes the commitment of “It’s Showtime” to entertain senior citizens, he also extends his love to the elderly people who do not like him at all.

He says: “Ang isa sa mga pinakagustung-gusto naming pinagseserbisyuhan at pinag-aalayan ng saya ay yung mga matatanda nating nanonood sa atin.

“We love the elderly—our grandmas and grandpas. We love you lolos and lolas. Pati na rin sa mga lolong hindi ako masyadong like, I still love you po.”

Is Vice Ganda referring to Juan Ponce Enrile?

Vice’s statements during the program may allude to the recent profanities that the Juan Ponce unleashed against Vice.

On Monday, September 11, Juan Ponce Enrile aired on his banner show “Dito Sa Bayan Ni Juan” his disgust over Vice’s recent icing-eating controversy with partner Ion Perez.

According to him, Vice’s “salacious” ways are comparable to those who abuse clout and power for their own gain.

He even points out that Vice’s popularity is only anchored on his penchant for indecency.

As he puts it, “Hindi lang walang decency kung ‘di abusado… you’re earning your living and popularity sa kabastusan.”

The ire from the political figure may give “It’s Showtime” a rougher win over the contested 12-day suspension issued by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

In September, the regulatory board forwarded a motion to suspend the noontime program over Vice and Ion’s “indecent acts.” With it comes one Motion for Reconsideration that the show may use to appeal against the ruling.

Should the board’s decision still be “adverse” against the respondent, the program may escalate the issue to the Office of The President—which Enrile holds position as chief legal adviser.

With this, any ruling meted by the Office of the President, in case of escalation, may be referred to Enrile’s office.
