Is Kim Chiu Headlining “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” PH Remake?

Kim Chiu also reveals why “Linlang” is taking a little longer to air

Kim Chiu is jumping from one project to another.

Just recently, her Prime Original series, “Fit Check: Confessions of an Ukay Queen,” was a success after ranking in the platform’s Top 10 shows not only in the Philippines but in other countries.

She has also finished taping for her upcoming Kapamilya series, “Linlang,” with Paulo Avelino, JM de Guzman, and the Diamond Star Maricel Soriano.

But more recently, there are reports on social media that she will headline another big series, a local adaptation of the hit K-Drama “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?”

In an interview during the Strokes Cosmetics Unveil event on Friday, August 11, at Shangri-La Hotel BGC, FreebieMNL directly asked Kim about the series.

Her first reaction was, “Ay, grabe,” with a smile.

She then says, “Hindi ko pa masyadong masabi ‘yan pero abangan na lang nila.”

Is this confirmation that she is doing the show?

Laughing, Kim exclaims, “Hindi pa, hindi pa, wala akong sinabi! Hahaha!“

PEP.ph, who was also at the interview, asked if she is interested in taking on the role.

Kim answers, “Gusto ko talagang umarte itself and I also want a good project na inspiring and a little bit of excitement.”

There is also a rumor that Kim’s partner in the series would be Jake Ejercito, her love team in “Fit Check.”

While Kim can’t say anything about “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?” just yet, she’s happy that people have accepted her partnership with Jake.

She only says, “Sana. Sana. Sobra kaming na-happy ni Jake. Actually, nagulat kami na tinanggap siya ng tao, kaming dalawa, na ang daming magandang comments and nagandahan sila sa screen partnership namin. So, nagulat din kami and happy din, siyempre.“

In the meantime, Kim has just finished taping for “Linlang,” a drama series announced last year where she worked with Paulo Avelino, JM de Guzman, and Maricel Soriano.

But it seems like the project is not airing anytime soon. Kapamilya fans are expecting the show to replace “Dirty Linen,” which is down to its two weeks but it seems like the network has other plans.

Kim tells FreebieMNL, “Nagkaroon ng slight changes, malalaman mo na lang soon kung bakit siya nalihis.”

Everything is the same, including the story and casting, but Kim discloses, “Yung material itself, nilipat lang… somewhere bigger.”

As for “Fit Check,” Kim is just thankful for the success the show has attained not only in the Philippines but also in international platforms of Amazon Prime.

The Kapamilya star says about this, “Nakakakilig! Sobrang happy talaga, as in I never expected na matatanggap siya sa ibang bansa.

“Actually, iniisip ko na nga mag-artista sa Albania! Albania?! Hahaha! Kasi ang tagal niyang nasa top 10. Minsan number two, number three, number four, so, parang, ‘Ha? Anong meron sa Albania!”

“Masaya naman, nag-Papua New Guinea siya, Malaysia, sa Singapore din. So, nakakatuwa, nakakatuwa.“
