Is Yen hinting about trouble in paradise?
Actress Yen Santos has reshared a quote from Heart Evangelista in a seeming allusion to her rumored split with Paolo Contis.
The 31-year-old actress has echoed Heart’s sentiment over love and commitment through an Instagram story she uploaded on Thursday, May 23, 2024.
In the video, Heart can be heard saying, “If I were to speak to who I was before, it would be, ‘Stop giving away your heart like it’s candy. Treasure yourself. Love yourself. Treasure your heart and your soul because that’s what’s gonna save you in the end.’”
Prior to this, Yen sparked breakup rumors with Paolo after she wiped out her Instagram posts that involved the actor. More so, the actress has also booted him out of her Instagram following list—with reasons still undisclosed as of this writing.
Paolo still follows Yen on the platform, but opted out of commenting further on the issue during the premiere night of his film “Fuchsia Libre” on May 13, 2024.
As he puts it, “Libre naman magtanong, pero yun ang sagot ko, no comment,” followed by an assertion that goes, “Isang magandang no comment. As I always say, masyado na kayong maraming alam sa buhay ko. So, I’d like to keep my personal life personal.”

In a separate interview in “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” Paolo reiterates his call to keep his personal life private. He stresses, “Dumating na kasi tayo sa point na, feeling ko, people think na, parang we owe it to everyone to share what’s happening to you, and I believe, it’s not part of my acting craft anymore,
“So, habang nagshe-share ka nang nagshe-share, lalo kang pakikialaman. And respeto sa mga tao sa buhay ko, I think it’s time na yung mga pribadong bagay, mga walang kinalaman sa pag-arte mo o sa craft mo bilang artista, itira mo na yun para sa sarili mo.”
Yen, for her part, remains mum and is yet to issue a statement regarding the issue.

Paolo revealed his romance with Yen in 2023, saying that the actress has no direct bearing on his highly publicized split with actress LJ Reyes. Their affair was believed to have started at the time they taped “A Faraway Land” in 2020 in the Faroe Islands.
