Is Barbie Forteza set to headline a movie with Joshua Garcia under Star Cinema?
News about a possible collaboration between ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema and GMA-7’s GMA Pictures made rounds on social media, with Barbie and Joshua’s names coming out as its possible lead stars.
It was actually GMA lady executive Annette Gozon-Valdes who told about this to reporters in a recent press conference.
In an interview with entertainment reporters during the premiere night of “Firefly” on December 12 at SM North EDSA, FreebieMNL asked Barbie about the news.
A surprised Barbie answered, “Ay! Why not!”
Smiling, the Sparkle artist tells FreebieMNL, “Alam mo, gusto ko yan! I-manifest mo yan, i-save mo yang video na yan. Wow! Hahaha! Gusto ko yan!”
When Joshua’s name was mentioned as her rumored partner, Barbie was again surprised and laughing as she answered the question.
“Oh my gosh, totoo ba? Oh my, God! May pambili na ako ng ref! At saka patio furniture!”
Barbie has just recently moved into her new house before Christmas.
But turning serious, Barbie says, “Napapanood ko lang yung mga interview ni Miss Annette ‘tapos I’m just keeping my fingers crossed pero nothing official.
“Nothing, nothing pa. Wala pong advise sa akin pero ang saya marinig ng mga ganung possibilities, di ba, na nako-consider ako. So, yun, nakakatuwa.”
Barbie recently finished a movie with her love team partner, David Licauco.
She is also set to headline a primetime series with GMA-7, “Pulang Araw,” together with David, Sanya Lopez, and Alden Richards.
Collaborations between ABS-CBN and GMA-7 were first made possible in 2023 through the primetime series “Unbreak My Heart,” starring Jodi Sta. Maria, Gabbi Garcia, Richard Yap, and Joshua Garcia.
