Barbie Forteza Wishes For David Licauco To Mingle With Her Tropa At Sparkle Canada Tour

“Magiging challenge sa akin ay ihalubilo ang aking love team,” says Barbie

Barbie Forteza is excited to bond with her friends and fellow Sparkle artists Julie Anne San Jose, Rayver Cruz, Bianca Umali, and Ruru Madrid in Canada.

But what she finds as a “good challenge” is to ease her love-team partner, David Licauco, into the group.

The six Sparkle artists are set to fly to Canada this April for the Kapuso artist center’s “Sparkle Goes To Canada” tour, where they are expected to do several performances.

Although most of them have worked together in drama shows, it will be the first time that David will be immersed with the group as he is not part of the Kapuso variety program “All-Out Sundays,” where Barbie, Julie, Rayver, Bianca, and Ruru are regular performers.

In a media conference organized by Sparkle GMA Artist Center on March 12, 2024, FreebieMNL asked the six stars about working with friends overseas.

Julie then cuts Barbie and tells her, “Friend din naman namin si David, ah.”

Barbie then explains, “Ayun na nga pero kailangan pa natin siyang i-warm up ng kaunti, di ba? Kasi medyo kalma, medyo baby kalma siya, e!

“So, yun po yung feeling kong magiging good challenge sa amin lahat kaya we got this!”

David, who was smiling at Barbie, tells her, “Thank you. Thank you doon.”

Meanwhile, David says that he is excited to be given the chance to bond with fellow Kapuso artists.

“Actually, super excited ako. Wala kasi ako sa ‘All-Out Sundays,’ so I don’t really get to hang out with other GMA artists, nakakasama ko lang sila kapag nasa taping.

“Most of the time, ang nakakasama ko talaga ay si Barbie so I think this is a good time for me to experience yung artista life I guess, like dancing and singing and of course, makasama ko sila Rayver, Ruru, Julie, Bianca.

“It’s a good time for me to learn and be out there. Super excited.”

Doesn’t feel like work

As for Julie Anne, she doesn’t feel like she will be working during their time in Canada because she is with her friends, as well as with her real-life sweetheart, Rayver.

“Working with your friends, it doesn’t feel like it is work, parang we’re actually there to just have fun and work. So, bale may work and play, balanse siya. Parang win-win siya e, yung travel ka pero of course, may work.

Pero masaya rin kasi kasama yung mga kaibigan mo. Masarap sa pakiramdam kasi kasama mo yung mga kaibigan mo, malalapit sa ‘yo, di ba? Kaya sobrang nakaka-excite.”

Bianca, for her part, is looking forward to giving and receiving support from her fellow Kapuso artists, as well as bringing fun to Global Pinoys.

“I think maliban sa yes, magkakaibigan na rin kami talaga lahat, isa sa highlights na magkakasama kami and ngayon sa ibang bansa naman is the fact that the way we were all raised together dito sa network namin as Kapuso artists.

“In moments like this that we all are going somewhere or performing somewhere as a group, we support each other up to a level na we give each other the right and the same amount of spotlight na alam naming deserve naming lahat yung mga moment namin.

“We can’t wait to be able to show and share with our Global Pinoys yung ganung pinaghandaan namin, ganung relationship na meron kaming lahat na we are as one para makapagbigay ng saya sa lahat.

Bianca’s boyfriend, Ruru, supports this point of view, saying, “Kumbaga walang pataasan, walang may ere, lahat nagtutulungan and at the same time, hindi rin maramot mag-share ng knowledge.”

He then mentions Rayver, who is really known as the dancer of the group.

Talking about him, Ruru says, “Siguro yun yung magiging working dynamics namin, parang siya po yung magiging mentor—sensei!”

Rayver then points out how will their friendship change after the tour.
