ABS-CBN Executive Deo Endrinal Passes Away

He is the producer of some of the most iconic programs of ABS-CBN

ABS-CBN executive Roldeo “Deo” Endrinal has passed away on February 3, 2024.

Deo is the head of one of ABS-CBN’s content providing units, Dreamscape Entertainment.

PJ Endrinal, Deo’s son, announced the death of his father through a tribute on Instagram.

He wrote, “This has to be the hardest caption that I will ever post.

“Thank you daddy for everything, you have been the best father not just to me but to everyone that has known you. We will always remember how fortunate we are that you were in our lives.

“This will definitely be a hole in my heart and will leave a scar; but I know that you’re finally free from pain and now happily dancing in heaven cause you’ll definitely be the life of the party up there.

“We might be grieving now but instead of the sadness we should be celebrating the life you lived and shared with us and for that we’ll always be grateful.

“For now, Rest in Paradise Daddy,
I love you so so much.”

PJ did not reveal the cause of Deo’s death.

Celebrities expressed their mourning and sadness in the comments section of PJ’s post, including Jodi Sta. Maria, Shaina Magdayao, Maja Salvador, Aiko Melendez, Gary Valenciano, Donny Pangilinan, among many others.

Just this evening, Dreamscape Entertainment replaced its social media accounts with a black-and-white logo of the unit.

Deo Endrinal: a formidable TV executive

Deo started his career as a writer in ABS-CBN. He eventually made his way as one of the networks’ bigwigs as a production head for variety and talk shows such as “ASAP,” “Teysi Ng Tahanan,” and “Star Circle Quest.”

He has also worked on as creative consultant in different drama programs like “Mula Sa Puso (1997)” and “Saan Ka Man Naroroon (1999).” He then served as a business unit head for teleseryes and narrative programs in the mid-2000s, including “Bituing Walang Ningning (2006)”, “Sana Maulit Muli (2007)”, “Tayong Dalawa (2009)”, “Katorse (2010)”, “May Bukas Pa (2009)”, “Mara Clara (2010)”, and “Walang Hanggan (2012),” among many others.

In 2013, Deo was able to establish a brand for his ABS-CBN TV production unit called Dreamscape Entertainment. The unit was able to produce some of the Kapamilya network’s most successful drama programs like “Ina Kapatid Anak (2013)”, “On The Wings of Love (2015)”, and the longest-running teleserye “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano (2015-2022).”

Of late, Dreamscape Entertainment produced some of the hit teleseryes post-shutdown of ABS-CBN, including “The Broken Marriage Vow (2022)”, “Dirty Linen (2023)”, and the currently airing shows “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo (2023)” and “Linlang (2024).”

Under Deo’s helm, Dreamscape was also able to produce projects for on-demand platforms such as iWant TFC’s “Glorious (2018)” and Amazon Prime’s “Fit Check (2023).” The production unit was also at the helm of “Unbreak My Heart (2023),” the teleserye that marked the first partnership of ABS-CBN and GMA-7.
