Elha Nympha revealed that she’s not only battling her condition but also some critics who have noticed the change in her body
Kapamilya singer Elha Nympha was in tears when she opened up about her current health struggle that had her going through medical treatment.
While she opted to withhold the information about the treatment, the young singer nevertheless gave some insights about it during her appearance on “Magandang Buhay” on June 28, 2023.
“Sa health po, I mean common po ito sa mga babae, like, hormonal imbalance. Mga ganoon po. Pero mas may deep pa po na explanation doon sa problema ko po na I think hindi pa ako ready i-share,” explained Elha.
While she underscores that it’s not a life or death situation, Elha hopes that she would be able to recover soon especially since the condition can affect her “future as a woman.”
Elha’s source of strength
Amid the challenges that she’s facing due to her condition, Elha says that she has found comfort in the people around her.
“Inisip ko na lang po ang mga taong nagmamahal sa akin na paano sila? Kaya ba nila na mawala ako? Kaya ba nila na makita akong lugmok?” Elha said in between tears.
As the eldest in the family, Elha felt the need to acknowledge those who are also in the same position as hers.
“I’m sure sa mga nanonood na panganay ngayon, ang hirap ipakita sa pamilya na you are weak. Kailangan po kasi may isang tao na matibay, lalong-lalo na wala na po akong tatay at nanay ko na lang po ang katuwang ko,” she said.
Having gained some weight, Elha revealed that she’s not only battling her condition but also some critics who have noticed the change in her body.
“I chose not to mind ang mga taong nagsasabi na ‘Uy, grabe, ang taba mo.’ Pino-promote ko ngayon ang body positivity and ini-embrace ko ang sarili ko dahil sobrang happy po ako,” said “The Voice Kids” season 2 grand winner.
Regine’s advice to Elha
Seeing the burden that Elha is facing, “Magandang Buhay” host Regine Velasquez-Alcasid couldn’t help but recall one of her past encounters with the former in “ASAP Natin ‘To.”
“Actually noong nag-‘ASAP,’ she had a hard time noong kakanta siya dapat, kasi parang ‘yon ang pinoproblema niya kasi, ‘I gained a little bit of [weight].’ So, parang feeling niya, ‘Ayaw niyo na akong kunin kasi hindi niyo na gusto ang itsura ko,’” she started.
But even before Elha’s thoughts could turn darker, Regine immediately corrected her misconception.
“Sabi ko sa kanya, parang, ‘No, it has nothing to do with that.’ ‘ASAP,’ and we love singing with you because of your voice, your talent, and we love you because you are such a wonderful young lady,” Regine said.
Regine likewise encouraged Elha to acknowledge that her body is going through a process and assured her that it would heal in no time.
